I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this topic. I have a Digitech RP1000 that I use for effects. Just for the heck of it, I am going to fool around with the amp models. Is there a way to use my Roadster head as just a power amp? Thanks

It appears that recently, when I play on Spongy, my volume drops significantly. The other week at a show, I had my master volume at 1:00 and it still didn't seem loud enough. I had to go back to Bold. Tubes are all new. Any suggestions? or is it just my deaf ***!! lol.

OCD all the way. I use it as a clean boost and love the way it sounds when I am soloing or want a little more grit to my tone. I have an 808 and will probably sell it. It didn't seem to be as versatile to me. Just my opinion. To each their own, right?

I get the same with the Roadster, but when your amp doesn't sound good to you, it's not going to feel good either. I feel one contributes to the other. But the next day when you fire it up, it sounds great and you feel like you can play anything. The highs and lows of being a musician, lol.

Thanks guys!! I went with Doug's Tubes. If I remember correctly, the 5th pre amp tube is for the reverb, right? His kit only has 5 tubes and I didn't want to buy an extra for reverb that I don't really use.

I use the 4cm with my Digitech RP1000 and only use effects. Sounds great!! You just have to bypass the amp/cab. Does not colored my tone at all.

Would you suggest trying the JJ ecc803? I don't think I can spend the kind of money I would like right now on tubes. I know current tubes are not as good as nos, but are there any you would recommend Mav? I was going to just get the Dougstubes Mesa setup, but thought I would ask around first...
