Mk V - Weird noise when turning it on

Mine did the same thing. It was the foot switch cord. It was a little loose in the socket in the back of the amp. Tightened it up and hasn't done it since.

what is it about mesa amps?

I hear ya. I tried a Carvin V3M. Everyone on the Carvin site was saying how great it was. I thought if it was a killer amp I would sell my V. When I A/B'd them, it wasn't even close. The Mark totally blew it away. Like you said there is total definition and color when playing power chords. The...

    Strange Problem

I was practicing the other night and noticed my high E string, when fretted at the twelfth fret, has no sustain. All the other positions have great sustain. All the other strings are fine at the twelfth. I thought it must be my guitar so I grab another and another and have the same problem. The...

    Thinking about a Recto

Would you be willing to help me talk my wife into that?

    Thinking about a Recto

Thanks for the replies. I really need to hear one in person.

    Thinking about a Recto

I have a Mark V that I really like but for some reason a Dual Rect sounds interesting. There isn't any music stores in my area that carry Mesa's and the You Tube demos don't do any amp justice. What type of tone differences can I expect?

Any of you Mark V owners have a CARVIN Guitar?

I have a DC127 with the stock pups and I really like it. I have the active electronics on it and they make it very versatile guitar.

    Crunchlab PU's

Finally had time to install the pups last night. To be honest I thought I would notice a bigger difference in sound. What I did notice is that the clean channel stays a lot cleaner before it starts breaking up. Both sound warmer than the stockers. I'm getting more sustain in channel three. The...

    Crunchlab PU's

Going to try the Crunchlab Liquifire setup. I keep going back and forth on what to use. What the heck, if I don't like 'em I can always try something else. Gotta start somewhere! I'll post my thoughts when I get them. Thanks for the advice.

    Crunchlab PU's

I'm using the stock Dimarzio IBZ pups.

    Crunchlab PU's

Hmmmm.. I like the way they sound but now I'm not sure if they're right for me. Any suggestions for alternatives? I want some Dimarzios that would sound wicked on channel 3.

    Crunchlab PU's

I really want to try this pickup with my Mark V and Ibanez RG2550. I see quite a few people have tried them in mahogany guitars but I'm curious as to how it sounds in a basswood guitar. Anyone tried it with this setup?

    Another effects loop problem

I think I figured it out. I went through my cables one by one as was suggested. They all checked out fine. It was interesting that I could hear a difference between cable brands. I'm going to experiment with that more later. My effects are an Ibanez CS9 Stereo Chorus and a DOD 585 Delay. One at...

    Another effects loop problem

Lovin' the amp but not the effects loop. When I use the foot switch to make the loop active, it totally kills the tone. It sounds like the cab has been covered with a blanket. It does it with or with out effects in the loop. It's so bad that I can't even use an effects box. I've studied the...

    New here and a question

Hello, I am very interested in the Mark V but am unable to try one out before I buy it. My question is the clean channel clean? I don't need Fender clean but I do need it to be fairly clean. Thanks
