Reverb bleed in my Mk III blue stripe

I think your amp may be functioning normally. Read the manual for the MkIII. The footswitch does not turn the reverb on/off. The reverb on a MkIII has two level settings so think of the footswitch as a reverb boost pedal. It's only 'off' when the level control is at zero. Some of the other...

MkIII lead channel master volume problem

Boogiebabies, If the LDR doesn't like heat would that explain why it seems to fail only after the amp has really warmed up? It works fine when the amp is first turned on. I'm sure the component will eventually fail leaving me with a permanent problem so I intend to replace it ASAP. Thanks for...

MkIII lead channel master volume problem

Mike at Boogie agrees that it's probably the LDR associated with the lead master. A replacement is in the mail. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Thanks for your input.

MkIII lead channel master volume problem

My green stripe MkIII head freaked out this weekend. When switching to the lead channel the lead master knob no longer had control over the level. It was as if the knob was on 10 regardless of it's position. The drive control functioned as expected but not the lead master. At practice the...

    Dead mark lll

Boogiebabies, What do you coat the transformer with to keep it from rusting? If a little rust is present would you cover it up or try to remove it first? Good advice on the cleaning methods. I've also use contact cleaner on my eq. I'll not do that again. Had no idea. Thanks, Ed

    MC90 speakers and Mark III

That's the combination I play through every weekend. Always get compliments on my tone. Email me at [email protected] and I'll give you a link to our demo so that you can hear some sound clips. It's a cheesy wedding band but at least the guitar tone is good.

MkIII reverb + noise gate dilemma

Thanks Boogiebabies. Bummer though. The Boss NS2 has works perfectly for me in the loop other than the reverb tail cut-off. Haven't noticed any issues with the lead channel. I'll try to move the gate up front or might just play with the decay setting to see if a compromise can be reached...

MkIII reverb + noise gate dilemma

I have a problem using the reverb on my MkIII while a noise gate is in the fx loop. It seems that the reverb return occurs prior to the fx loop since the noise gate cuts off the tail of the verb. Does a mod exist that would allow the reverb to decay naturally after the noise gate has closed...

MkIII Blue Stripe to Green Stripe conversion

The green stripe version is my preference as well. I've owned a black stripe and played through a purple on more than one occasion. My current blue stripe head was the best sounding amp I've ever owned until the recent addition of the green stripe combo. Who has a green stripe long head for sale?

MkIII Blue Stripe to Green Stripe conversion

Boogiebabies, Yes, it's just as you've stated. The OT in the green stripe is 562004R-1. The OT in the blue stripe is 562003. It makes sense that the OT would be different since the power sections are wired differently. Thanks for all your help. Guess it's time to start shopping for a green...

MkIII Blue Stripe to Green Stripe conversion

Has anyone ever modded their blue stripe (or any other stripe) MkIII to green stripe specs? Would Mike B. at Mesa be willing and able to do this mod? I have both a green stripe combo and a blue stripe head. The sound of the green stripe is growing on me.

    MkIII Metal corners/Replacement parts/Amp hardware

The Fender corners worked perfectly. Thanks RR. They look to be identical to the Ernie Ball corners but fit much better. Maybe my first package of Ernie Ball replacement parts were just out of spec junk. Who knows? Thanks for all the help and information.
