    Strategy 400/Bass 400 tubes

Maybe more luck here... Hi all, I've bought a Bass 400 last year, it came with 6 6550 tubes in it. At high volume it sounded horrible distorted, so I tried 6 of the mesa tubes (6L6) from the Strategy in the Bass 400. Perfect sound :D I've put the 6550 tubes in the Strategy 400 and.... Perfect...

Powerhouse 1000 value -- your thoughts?

Get it before I do, I'm on my way to the airport now :P Is it the old style cab? I think the speaker is an Electrovoice EVM 15L and there's a possibility it can be repaired for much less then the cost of a new one

can a mesa half stack keep up with an 8x10 bass cab?

See my signature for what I need to keep up with a Mk III and a Mk IV (both with one Marshall 1960 cab)

Who else feels that their mesa is very heavy? (weight)

Mark III and Mark IV widebodys are peanuts, try lifting my rig  Guess on the Bass 400: +/- 20 kg Strategy 400: 27,2 kg Powerhouse 1000: +/- 82 kg Diesel 210: 31,7 kg Diesel 115: 28,8 kg

8 ohm cab into 4 ohm load?

You should use the 4 ohm outs if you use both speakers, if you use one speaker plug it in the 8 ohm output. Check the manuals on the Mesa site

    Poweramp Spacing

You should keep signal cables away from power cables, that's where hum can appear. I left 1 HE open between the poweramps and +/- 3He between power amp and preamp, with extra fans between the poweramps and between the poweramp/preamp. Just to be sure. The rig is dead quiet (when not played...
