    OT: EVM-12L for MkV

You forget the dilemma is that the front of the cab does not come off.

    OT: EVM-12L for MkV

Is there a work around when that happens?

    OT: EVM-12L for MkV

Overall, the CL-80 were very decent speakers but they can't handle very well the bass. Especially if it's a clean sound thats been dialed. I can hear the paper of the speaker rattling. When you play distorted of course that get completely lost in the rest of the action. I hear that the CL-80 are...

    OT: EVM-12L for MkV

After hearing about EVM-12L speakers I have a serious case of GAS. I have a few cabs that currently house Celestions speaker (CL-80 and G12K100 to be precise) that I would like to swap to EVM12L. Does the screw holes perfectly align with those of the celestion's? I don't want to rip the tolex on...

    MKV Footswitch Cable interface.

I also got a cable problem sometime ago. See the last post on the following thread http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=44921 It appears that this problem shows up differently to different people. This cable is definitely something to keep an eye on.

To much treble on 45 and 90

Only one 8 ohms cab at a time can be connected to the 8 ohms outputs. Two 8 cabs at the same time would turn to be only an 4 ohms load since the wiring is parrallel. That would a an unsafe mismatch. Two 8 ohms cabs can be connected to the 4 ohms outputs simultaneously for a perfect match.

    checking the rectifier tube

I had a rattling recto tube AND two power tubes when I first got my combo. My dealer changed them for free. It helped alot. I think preamp tubes will become microphonic before they actually rattle. I could be wrong. All this rattling was only happenning when I played.

    Mark IV Mode... No Balls?

Well I'm now using a pair of 1x12" with G12K100. I'm letting aside a 2x12" with CL80 for this. I've been using those GK for about 2 months now. They have more bass and overall a bit darker. They are not harsh at all BUT you loose a bit of sparkle if that's what you are looking for. The GK are...

    POLL: Effects Loop Success?

Similar setup with a BOSS GT-10. 4-cable setup. No issues at all. Tone sucking? Nothing to write home about.

How to connect 3x 8 ohms

If you find that boring please skip... Ok! Finally! I checked the outputs and noticed the tips (signals out) from the outputs ( 4ohms and 8ohms) were electrically connected. So we have an output transformer with a secondary winding with a tap for a 4 ohms cab, whereas the complete winding is...

    a technical question

Not obvious.. Some companies make replacement for the Output transformer but I would bet that none have produce an input transfo specially with the feature allowing to switch to FULL or VARIAC. Not sure that MESA would have that for 220V. I'd say just buy a 220V to 110V stepdown transformer.

    Anyone else had this problem...............

I had a problem with the connection as well. Mine was working but when I stop playing you could hear this loud buzz from the channel switch relay going bezerk. I followed the suggestion from someone on this board to bend the ground clip on the back connector so the contact with the outer rim is...

    Bit of help please......

Hi! I had a similar thread going I think last week. It followed from the fact that I got a pair of 1x12(8 ohms G12K100 yes those are great by the way) and I wanted to run both on the 4ohms output and run a 8ohms 2x12" (2x CL80 16ohms-parallel) in one of the other 8ohms. I lastly sent an email...

Mark V...wonder if it will fit my needs?

True you can run safely a 16 ohms in an 8ohms output on the MarkV. What about rewiring your cab to have all 4 16ohms speakers in parallel? It would give you a 4 ohms cab and you could switch the output selector on the 2203 on the 2203 to 4 ohms....

    Question about the slave out

There are a few options out there it all depends on the compromises you're willing to take. I used salve out to a UltraG behringer DI which is voiced to emulate a 4x12" cab. You don't get to choose here. There are 2x 20dB pads and a ground lift. Its very convenient. Look at the reviews on...

    MKV - G Major 2 control switching

G-major 2 being a multieffects the solo, tuner, eq, reverb are all pretty much covered by the unit. I wouldn't think the Mark V ones bring any significant difference?!

    Ok now I'm confused.......

I just checked and this information is still there on the Mesa site http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Mark_Series/mark5/mark5.html Those pages have been up since as long as I can remember - jan 2009? That is what I understood as well. You also have to keep the bias on the 6L6 settings...
