I have a MarkIV . Can someone advise me on what amp is comparable to it when I go a Guitar Center or A Mom &Pop store. Basically if I try a pedal out or an effects pedal. It would be great to have as close as possible to a MarkIV.. Around me the stores have Marshalls, Peavey and a few others...

I'm looking for a good guitar strap that is wide and has good padding in the shoulder area. Anyone know of any that are good. The guitar strap I have now I just dont like. It slides to easily and I find I keep pulling the guitar back up. And I like to play w/guitar set up high above waist..

The tube on the far left went bad. So I put the tube next to it in that position. Then I took the second tube and put that in the right side spot. I really never ran the amp but maybe a couple days , and at very low volumes with that bad tube. Which I didnt know was bad. But it sounded kinda...

From what I understand its ok to run just 2 tubes in class A. I had 1 tube go bad so I put 2 tubes on the ends . The 1 that went bad was on the left end. This should work till I get my new tubes. Which will be in about a week or so. And they are the same numbered tubes too. Another question...

well I took boogiebabies advice and let the amp stay on standby for 5 mins. Well absolutely no glow what so ever on that one. I believe it is not even funtional. I played the amp for about 15 mins and the tube was cold to the touch. looks like new tubes for me

oh TT's on a gen4 nice. Not easy but worth it when its done. I guess most of the TT's have to be removed for access.

Rampage may I ask where you got that date from. Ive looked around inside my amp and cant find a born on date. I found a stamped serial # though. My amps kinda a frankenstein I guess being switched from a combo to a head. Previous owner thinks he purchased sometime in 1992.

Thanks Boogiebabies for the info. Normally I have been letting it warmup a minute or 2 then I 've been putting on the mains. I'll let it sit in standby for 5 and then check the color of the front tubes.. hopefully they will be glowing nice and blue. thanks dy

this would be a power amp tube I believe. 1st one on the left. It hardly had any brightness to it at all. Maybe it needs to get cranked for it to glow. Experimenting with this amp is going be fun.

Mine is a short head I believe. It was converted from a combo. He even gave me the old case that he originally had with the combo. So yes visual it must be a power amp tube then. How can you see the pre amp tubes. By looking back there its kinda tough. Good luck with your switch
