what exactly do these amps weigh

I think if you're set on a Lonestar, see if you can find a short [19"] 1x12 combo. That would be my choice for your situation. -dave

Faint "static" noises in my Lonestar Classic...

I actually just had this problem yesterday. [one of those "grrrr stupid me and my tube amps" moments] While the amp was on with no signal playing I just went to each power tube and plinked my fingernail against them until I found the one that made noise. New pair, problem solved! -dave

My new rack rig; Studio pre w/ Recto 2:100

Very nice man! That's a sweet deal! Kinda off topic, but how do you like that D-Sonic in that 7 string? [I've got the same guitar and don't like the stock pickups] -dave

*PIC* Just bought a Mark IIB!

I loved the IIB I used to have too. Sadly, I traded it for a Nomad 100 head for some reason, and have regretted it ever since. -dave

Lead sound And Rhythm sound on the fly with Single Rectifier

Do the singles not have the channel cloning options? When I used my rackmount dual, I used channel 1 on vintage for the lead and channel 2 on modern for rhythm. No need for a clean channel. -dave

Anyone replaced the terrible Nomad knobs?

A previous owner of mine put some arrow lookin deals on my knobs too, but I'm still not a fan. -dave

    FS/FT: Nomad 100 head - Gone!

El bumpo...no interest, huh? No offers even?

Loud Pop when shutting the Power Off

I think you're supposed to flip it to standby for a little bit before you shut it off every time, no? I thought that was standard Boogie manual material.

Does anyone think this sounds like a recto??

Neck through? I think you mean set neck. I don't think I've ever seen a neck through Les Paul. -dave

If you didn't play a Lonestar....

Well, ideally I'd like a Road King II, on account of the LSC cleans being in it, along with some killer Recto stuff on ch 3 and 4. That and the power tube options. But that doesn't really answer your question since it's more expensive than a Lonestar! -dave

    Suggested cabs for 20/20

I've used my Traditional 4x12 in stereo for a few years now and haven't really noticed any muddiness vs mono. -dave

Studio Pre - Solo sound suggestions...

What kind of guitar, pickups, power amp, speakers, cab, etc? Those will all make a big difference. The Studio pre should have lots of gain, being a Mark series pre and all. And a Tube Screamer in front should make it scream even more! Should not be an issue to shred with it, that's for sure. -dave

Does anyone think this sounds like a recto??

If I had to guess, I'd say it's the combination of what sounds like Extreme mode and a really bright cabinet. [I have the same one, it kinda sucks] Does sound pretty Recto-y though. -dave

    Mark IIC+ Realization

All the Boogies I've played have always sounded better on the highest wattage mode. Seems to bring out the punch and midrange growl that I love so much! -dave

You CAN NOT mIx TuBeS on the Mark 5

For The Win I think if you talk to the guy at Eurotubes, he can set you up with just that, EL34s that'll run closer to ideal in a Boogie set to 6L6. But I've heard some guys who seem to know what they're talking about criticize some of his practices. I'm of the opinion where if it sounds better...

    Thinking of Dumpin' my LSC

You could always get a short combo chassis built, make the swap and have two small amps. Plus those look really cool. -dave

Nomad transformer hum (I think) - help!

My Nomad 100 head has an unnerving hum when flipped on too, coming from the chassis. It always sounded like the transformer to me, so I never looked into it. -dave

Anyone replaced the terrible Nomad knobs?

Sweet! I've never liked the Nomad's knobs either, but could never justify changing them. -dave
