Holy crap, there are a lot of Nomads on there! Usually there's one or two, but man! Guess it's not the week to put mine on. -dave

Please help me build my first Mesa rack!

Yeah, the Furman PL-Plus is a good buy, just for the peace of mind. That way your gear won't get fried from a surge, and you can see the voltage your gear is getting. -dave

What's better for metal rhythm? Mk.iic+ or Mkiii? Quad pre

Well if your talking like old school metal, the c+ is the way to go. That amp prettymuch defined some of the best metal sounds ever. -dave

Please help me build my first Mesa rack!

Supposedly with the uno firmware you can do exactly what you're describing. I bought that firmware for mine, but lost the chip before I got to install it. The G-Major definitely does what you're looking for, but I dunno if it's worth the trouble. I've always just made different patches with the...

Please help me build my first Mesa rack!

That rig you described is awesome! [I have it] It's very very versatile, and should be relatively portable. The only thing I'd suggest would be considering a single 4x12 cab, just because then you can stack stuff on it and wheel it around. [Plus they sound awesome!] As far as foot controllers...

    Compressors in FX loop?

Gotcha. Yeah, the solo boost on the Nomad is after the effects loop. [I'd suggest modifying the effects loop to serial if you haven't yet] -dave

    Mesa Nomad 45 questions.

Nomads are notorious for having bad pots. It may be that the previous owner let them die one by one without getting them fixed. I think Boogie will sell you the official replacements on the cheap. -dave

    Compressors in FX loop?

I think the solo boost is usually after the effects loop, so you should be good. What kind of amp are you running? With your gear I'd put the stuff in this order: Loop send -> compressor -> EQ -> BBE -> chorus/delay -> loop return You can always move the stuff around and see how you like it...

    Noise Gate with your Boogies?

I use the gate in my G-Major and it works quite well. Don't hear it unless you're looking for it and you know what you're looking for. I only use it on the highest gain patches though, never had a problem with the low gain/clean stuff. -dave

    Compressors in FX loop?

I'd say put the compressor first, so your effects won't get squished. That way you can smooth out the signal then go nuts with the modulation and delay without it turning into mush. -dave

All True Bypass pedals in the fx loop??

I'm assuming that if signal loss became a problem, you could always bump the loop send level to compensate. I've never had a problem, but I've only had 4 or 5 true bypass pedals in the loop at once, and with shorty cables between them. -dave

    LSC Question

Mine sounds great at low volumes, even on the 100 watt setting. But be careful, once you open it up so you can feel it, you'll never want to play it quiet again! -dave

    Reeder Mod Question

I mean the knob farthest right on the individual channels, the one labeled Master. [sorry for the confusion, I thought they were labeled the other way around] And yes, channel two switched to clean instead of drive. -dave

Lonestar Classic and Fender Twin Reverb Question

Personally, I love playing my Lonestar through my Traditional 4x12 with the V30s. Gives it a more rockin' midrange voicing that is really appealing. Just makes it a bit too much to carry for smaller rooms. -dave

    Reeder Mod Question

Is the very loudness controllable? Or are you saying it's very loud in comparison? If you have the drive circuit engaged, it's gonna be a bit louder...when I do, I have the output on channel 1 at noon-1:00 and the output on channel 2 between 9-10:00. [I'm Reeder modded too] With the drive...

    Compressors in FX loop?

In my rack setup I use a dbx 166xl in the loop of my TriAxis. It sounds better to my ears than the G-Major one, but in all fairness, I haven't tweaked the G-Major one that much. I love having the compressor in the loop for the clean chorusy sounds. I have a compressor pedal [the mxr one I think]...

Here's a bunch of Triaxis sounds

Nice work man! I love hearing what other people can do with the same gear, it makes me want to go play and make some new patches! -dave
