    Studio .22+ graphic EQ question

I tried to change all the tubes. I used 5x 12ax7 from Mesa and two Sovtek EL84 to test. Nothing changed. Here's a couple of pictures of the board. It seems that the main transformer has been changed. Also, some parts are soldered from the other side of the PCB (as seen in the picture).

    Studio .22+ graphic EQ question

Ok! in my case, the two channels have a lot of difference in terms of volume. The clean channel is around 1.5 to match the LEAD channel on 10. Also, the LEAD channel seems not to have a lot of gain. I have the same amount of gain on both channels (I've seen a couple of videos of YouTube about...

    Studio .22+ graphic EQ question

I've checked the manual and also see a couple of videos on YouTube to see how exactly the two volumes work and I think my amp is not working properly (or it has been modified to do something else). I've tried changing v1 and V2 preamp tubes to check if they're were broken, but nothing changed...

    Studio .22+ graphic EQ question

Ho guys! I've purchased a .22+ in very good shape from the early 90. I really like the sound. I've found that the eq seems not to affect the sound when in LEAD mode, while in RHYTHM mode it works fine (I'm using the DOWN button position "EQ IN" and it doesn't work). Also, it seems that LEAD...

Tremoverb combo hum on both channels

Ok, after reading all your precious posts and made some other research, I've swapped the v5 tube with a JJ and the main big hum coming from the reverb disappeared. A couple of days ago, I've made a combo to head conversion of this Tremoverb. I had the issue that the stock reverb tank made the...

Tremoverb combo hum on both channels

What is called "Chinese 12ax7" can be a specific brand, or any generic Chinese 12ax7 preamp tube?

These are the tubes that are in the Tremoverb:

Tremoverb combo hum on both channels

It seems that the gain comes out as I turn up the channel master, while in the 3ch, the gain is there at lower channel master levels. Despite this, tremoverb red channel is very articulated. It sounds less compressed to me and I really like it. I just want to understand if there's something to...

Tremoverb combo hum on both channels

The amp was retubed around one year ago and not used so often. All tubes seem to be in a good condition. They are all Electro Harmonix. Are EHX good (in the preamp section) for the cathode follower question? I know that Mesa tells that chinese preamp tubes need to be used to avoid cathode...

Tremoverb combo hum on both channels

Hi guys! A couple of days ago I took a '95 Tremoverb combo in very good conditions. It came with Electro Harmonix tubes (6L6 power tubes) ad it sounds very good. But there are a couple of things that aren't clear to me. I'm a.3ch Triple Recto user from 2005, so I did quick A/B test between the...

2000 3ch Triple Rectifier preamp tubes replacement

Hi guys! I have a 2000 3ch Triple Rectifier and I still have the stock Mesa preamp tubes in it (power amp tubes are JJ EL34). I've used it always in diode rectifier mode and I've bought it used, with almost new tubes. I want to change the preamp tubes essentially because the head have a sort...

    Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

Mine is a 2000 3ch Triple Rectifier. In these days I'll try with a different V1 tube.

    Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

An update: I turned on the amp and switched to ch 2. Played it for half an hour without issues. Then I switched to ch 1 and, after a couple of minutes, the ground hum started. So I played with the ch1 volume knob and the hum disappeared when I turn volume up, but the issue wasn't finally...

    Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

It happened three times, when I was on ch 1. Today I used ch 2 only and I had no issue at all. It could be something related to the muting circuit, because a couple of years ago I had the "mute issue" (no led channels on the front and no sound at all) and the technician that fixed my Mesa told...

    Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

No, I'm not using the FX loop. There's nothing between SEND and RETURN.

    Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

Hi guys! It's a couple of weeks that my Triple Recto sometimes has this ground hum coming out from the speaker. The guitar doesn't sound at all or sound like a broken jack when the hum comes out. It happens always when I was on the clean channel. Switching from a channel to another one seems...

    Dual recto channel switching issue

I had a very similar issue with my 2005 Triple 3ch (using old long footswitch). I had to send it to fix. It was discovered that an LM3914 (If I remember it correctly) and a diode were broken. In my case, the amp switched by itself after a couple of minutes it was turned on.

    Tight High Gain Recto Mods

I have a 2005 3ch Triple Rectifier and I'm doing some tone tests. I need to use the FX loop on (I've modded it to have a serial loop, I have a lot of modulation pedals and I really like the SOLO function), and I'm experimenting what's the best tone according to my ears. First, I used a very...

    Dual recto channel switching issue

Using the backpanel pot to set a channel, do the lights on the footswitch stay on or off? Also, using the back panel pot to set a channel and disconnecting the footswitch cable, what happens?

Triple Recto issue: sound and light turns off for a second

Hi guys, It's a couple of days that my Recto is having this issue: after 10-15 minutes of playing, the amp starts to sound like there are some interferences, but not that loud, so I can still play. After a while, sound and channel light turns off for a second, like turning off the amp, then...
