I never tried to plug into both at the same time, but I've noticed that depending on how the rocker switch it set, that makes the appropriate jacks active. Yeah, a bit misleading.

When I turned on my amp the other day, from standby to on, I heard a loud "pop" through the speakers and saw a bright flash of light in one of the power tubes. I turned it back to stand by, inspected and then back to on. No noise and no flash of light. I've turned it on and off several times...

I ended up calling Orange, they told me that this amp does not need to be biased. Just a FYI for anyone else.

Does anyone know if this amp needs to be biased when changing the EL84 power tubes? I've read that many EL84 tube amps from Orange don't need to be biased. Thanks

This is what I use as far as pre-amp tubes. I have a Mark IVA head with a 4x12 cab running SED =C= el34/6l6 combo power tubes. V1 - Tung-Sol RI V2 - JJ V3 - JJ V4 - stock mesa 12AT7 V5 - Mullard RI

If I were going to replace pickups in either of my Les Pauls, I'd seriously consider Gibson Dirty Fingers pups.

Always buy my tubes from Tube Depot. If you tell them they are for a Mark IV, they'll send you correct ones.

Nope, I get really good Marshall tones with my Les Pauls out of CH2. So no, never crossed my mind. Still, I get what you're saying.
