    FOUND ONE - Please delete!

I am looking for a 2x12 Recto vertical cab! For those interested in a trade deal (plus cash on my end): I have a Mesa 3/4 back 1x12 with a WGS Veteran 30 speaker installed (V30 clone with no upper-mid spike) & a BOSS RC-2 looper pedal to trade towards a Recto 2x12 vertical cab if applicable.

You can put the combo on top of this cab. ;)

First time playing with a full band at volume - too bright!

Thanks, Bullen! I was afraid you might say 4x12. Haha. I'll try some different tubes first. I was trying to NOT get into swapping tubes again, but the JJ Mesas seem to be a little harsh. screamingdaisy: I was using crunch and mark iv modes, but it didn't seem like changing my settings made...

First time playing with a full band at volume - too bright!

Well, I finally got a chance to jam with some friends at volume and I was more than disappointed with my tones. Everything was so bright and the attack was very harsh. To be honest, I don't play very loud at home so I'm not used to hearing the amp cranked. I tried tweaking my tones while at...

    Mark V ftw once again

Congrats on the gig! They were blinded by Tone and did not hear any of your mistakes. \m/

Anyone able to get Dimebag tone out of the mark V?

Might be hard since he used SS Randall amps....

    Mark V ftw once again

Awesome man. Good luck! Tell us more about the M5. Looks neat.

Suitable 1x12 Cab for Mark V Head

The front port is for additional bass response. It does not mimick the sound of an open back in any way. The 3/4 back is TUNED and IMO is the most versatile cab Mesa makes. I get great tight Metal tones as well as open, breathing cleans. No tones seem to suffer.

The 3/4 back is the best of both worlds so it makes the decision easy!

    Favorite 2x12 for Mark V?

Agree! I have two friends with one and it is the bomb. If I had the money I'd have one.

MARK I Mode - Let's Help us All - Post Your Best Settings

Mark I mode sounds great at any gain level. Just tried rolling the gain back to 9'oclock and it sounded stellar! I think it is my favorite mode on the amp right now.

Mark V Tube Sockets Dirty and Cracked?

Probably the best idea - have a Mesa tech take a look. That's what the warranty is for!

What are you pushing the front end of your MV with?

It's pretty amazing how you don't need an OD with this amp. All the gain you need is in the treble knob (and the mid to an extent) and presence even.

MARK I Mode - Let's Help us All - Post Your Best Settings

In the right hands I'm sure it could sound extremely similar.

    Channel 2 love...

Man, this channel can do it ALL. I would buy an amp with just the first two channels in a heartbeat. 45w/tube in CH2 is such a great vibe/feel!

    Played a IIc+ today

Sounds very much like Mark I mode on the V to me from this description. Maybe the IIC+ tones you seek hide in the Mark I Mode (possibly with a boost)?
