    Customer Explorer style guitar w/EMG 81x/85x. Krank Revolution 4x12 Cabinet. No effects. I prefer the Orange channel for everything but I have tried every type of combination and the volume issue is the same no matter what I do.

    Volume issues

    Super frustrated. Was having some tone and volume issues with my Dual Rec so I replaced the preamp tubes. Tone, much better but still nowhere near as loud as it should be. I have a set of EL34s sitting around so I throw those in and same issue. Any ideas what causes this?

    Orange gain stage louder than clean?

    I believe its a Rev F (92-93-ish right)? 2 channel etc, etc. I don't know. It just doesn't seem to have quite the oomf it did when I first got it. Because I play thrashy downtuned hardcore I'd never had it on the clean channel to notice it before so its good to know that isn't unusual.

A week or so ago I had was seemed to clearly be a preamp tube go on me so I changed all 5 tubes which fixed the main issue but now it seems that when I switch the orange to act as a clean channel I have way more volume than...
