Any body dig the ENGL amplification?

I reckon the fx-send output from the preamp.

    Mustaine/Megadeth and Line 6

I saw the video of Dave Mustaine & his Line6 amps on Youtube. He acted like a dick (as usual), but it was pretty cool how he explained it all in-depth. I enjoyed that, and respected that he took the time out to explain it all, even thought he was of course endorsing the amp (at least he was...

    The Mark IV thread....!!

^^ would using a parametric EQ in the effects loop help make it sound aggressive? if so, how should the EQ be set?

    Chorus pedal recommendations?

Here's a part of a song I demoed (rough track), last year I think. It was with my ol' Line6 FlextoneII combo, using the in-built chorus (chorus2), and an EQ in the effects loop. I really like the "swirl" that happens on the C chord, hence the title of the track...

    Chorus pedal recommendations?

Cool, thanks for your reply Scott! 8) I look forward to other people's comments on the "LA Sound" too. Are you familiar with Mercyful Fate & King Diamond? I've noticed that they have used chorus with distortion a fair bit, but I thought that was particularly unique to them. You can really...

Best Chorus for the Mark IV

Is that what it is? I know that chorus has been used in different ways throughout time, and during the 1980s. It's just that I'm wondering what is the "quintessential" '80s chorus' type tone/effect. I particularly adore Andy Summer's chorusey tones. 8) His tone on Every Breath You Take is...

What part of the tone didn't you two like? The distortion part? The clean part? Or overall?

    C+/SimulClass Question

I think so. The MarkIII & MarkIV are also Simul-Class, but are both 3-channel amps.

Quick tone test vid of my MarkIV

Yes. And it was a pretty cheap chorus pedal. I guess I possibly didn't set the EQ on the chorus pedal too well, which added to the thinness and squawk. I noticed you are from Belgium..........

    The Mark IV thread....!!

In that case, how does one make the MarkIV sound more aggressive, without modifying the circuitry?

    Chorus pedal recommendations?

Thanks for providing the website link, Scott. I had a read of the review of the Visual Sound H2O Liquid Chorus & Echo- the unit seems pretty good. "When placed in a signal chain using a distortion/overdrive pedal preceding the H2O pedal, the effect provided a wet chorusing effect, but also...

I do! My stereo rig will consist of an Engl Fireball alongside my Mesa/Boogie MarkIV.

Quick tone test vid of my MarkIV

This video was shot the day I was trialling speaker cabinets for my Mesa/Boogie MarkIV. I literally had 5 minutes to set the amp up, rush & make some settings, and try out the channels. We all know how sensitive the controls are, and basically I just knocked them into a position. In the video...
