Mk III with No Eq - Need suggestions for an EQ?

There's schematics floating around. Check blue guitar. And on the mark schematic, it notes where the GEQ punches in/out. It would be a relatively simple DIY mod, I'd say, as long as you're okay with it being outboard.

which screws for MKIV rack kit ?

What screws? The screws to mount the rack to the road case? Those are 10/24--standard rackmount screws. 1/2" or 3/4" long should be fine. The screws to mount the kit to the head are 8/24, and 1/4" should do. (I only know this one because I just bought screws to mount my III back into a head...

    My new half back cabinets

If you are looking for a cheaper route than EVM12Ls, you could check out Eminence Red white & Blues. I've heard they are a lot like the EVs, but a hair warmer/fatter. That's what the Fuchs cabs are being loaded with now (and Andy's favorite speaker is the EV). I plan on getting a 1x12 with a...

    Mesa half back cabs?

I've heard some good things about g12h for the mark amps. If you want current production for the C90, the closest you'll get is the Celestion CL 80. I would think you wouldn't want two EVs, and you'd want something to balance out the brighter EV, which the C90 seems do do, being slightly warmer.

    Mesa half back cabs?

I just got try try out my new halfback with EVs and C90s. This cab is HEAVY. No joke, it weighs in at 120 lbs. Its so large for it's weight, that although I can pick it up, if I try to walk with it by myself, I practically fall over. The one downside to the cab. Luckily, casters should...

    Petrucci settings for Mark IV?

Yeah, it's easy. You count digits off of the gap between 10 and 0 to help out when you can't read a digit. The tricky part is seeing what knobs are pulled. Top row: 6 8(pulled?) 6.5(?) 4 3(pulled?) 5.5 4 3(pulled?) 2 Bottom row: 8.5(pulled?) 7 2 3 8.5 5 5 5 Not sure where the R1 treble is...

    Petrucci settings for Mark IV?

This is a better picture on what he is currently using for settings on the IV. You can read the knobs on this one: He's been scooping his mids like crazy the last few years. I guess when you don't have another guitarist in the band, you can get away with that. I can't. I need that 750 up...

    MkI "frankensteen" Gut Shots

The Mark I's had PCB mounted tube sockets? Is it a reissue? Are the Mark IVs the only currently Mesa amp with chassis mounted sockets?

Is this squealing due to a microphonic tube?

Got a Mark IV second hand earlier this week. The lead channel has this nasty squeal when I have the lead gain past 3 (vol 1 is at 7, lead master at 2, master at 2). I don't hear it on the clean channel. I forgot to check if it occurs with R2. If I turn the guitar volume off completely, the...

    mark iv suggested settings

I think the voicing on the four is a little on the dark side as it is, but crank that presence and you'll still get that bite to cut through. I bet EVs help it dig through too, but I'm not fortunate to have one of those cabs....

Mark IV: What's In Your FX Loop?

I have a G-Major. If I were to do it again, I'd get one of those Rocktron units (I forget if it is the Intelliflex or the Repliflex). Not crazy about the chorus on the G-Major..it seems to clip the high end. And the build quality of the knobs, I'm sure you've heard about. My bandmates'...

    My new EV arrived...

Yup, they reissued them as the EVM 12L Classic: http://www.electrovoice.com/productfamilies/72.html It retails for around $300, though, I believe...

    mark iv suggested settings

Most people will agree that you need to boost R2 if you want to get a good Marshall-type crunch sound out of it. Honestly, If you got a boost pedal, you could use it to boost both R1 and R2 (and depending on the pedal, roll off that bass you're having problems with). That would give you a...

Does any European here have a Mesa Mark IIC+?

How do you plan on obtaining the OT that was used in the IIC amps that is no longer available?

    Mark III vs IV

It's probably one of those toose young 'I'm just trying to pay for college' dancers, and not the 'trying to support 3 kids who don't know their fathers and my coke habit' girls.

What's the going rate for halfback 4x12 with C90 and EVs?

For a cab with some slight tolex tears, how much should I be paying for this cab?

    Mark IV Speaker Outs

Yeah, the way the amp is desgined is that the two 4 ohm jacks are really expecting 8 ohms total. You should plug an 8 ohm cab into each of the 4 ohm jacks.

    Mark III vs IV

I've got a III and a IV is coming on the way. I expect to unload the III shortly after, as long as the IV does what I liked about the III. Having the shared gain on the III is really frustrating. It also makes using something in the FX loop hard since the levels on clean and dirty are way...
