    New Amp Day - DC2

I sold mine not too long ago to a guy in Nashville who I think was from Kentucky. Just wondering if it had popped back up. DC-2's seem to be pretty rare.

Mark IV Issues: Weird lower octave notes & volume swells

The volume spikes happen whether the loop is active or not. As for the weird lower note sound - when the G Major is bypassed it goes away. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the amps FX loop to be causing this. I don't get this issue with my Mark V.

Mesa boogie mark iv or mark v advice

I own both. The Marl IV's cleans and rythem channels are essentially useless. The Mark V smokes it in every way. But channel 3 goes to the IV when cranked.. It seems to have more bite. If you're wanting a fender clean channel, a Marshall sound and a semi-brown sound to play around with it's all...

Mark IV Issues: Weird lower octave notes & volume swells

I recently picked up a Mark IV wide-body combo that's in very good condition and sounds great. I'm having 2 issues with it though. 1) Yesterday I noticed something odd... I have a G Major 2 in the loop that sounds terrific, but with delay there seems to be a weird doubling/octave effect going...

Mini Rec for 2C+ type Petrucci tones?

As already stated, a recto isn't going to sound like a Mark, they are complete opposites. Find a used Mark IV and you're instantly there.

1978 Les Paul - original owner

I normally see '78's going for $3,000+. I guess being a second hurts the resale value... That or you're screwing yourself.

    Death Magnetic

Really makes you wonder why the left it like this. Surely they heard the clipping? How does a band of this magnitude wind up with rookie mistakes in a professional recording....

Rick Rubin wasn't a good match for Metallica I don't think. They should have went back to Rasvladamir Putin.

New Amp Day: Mesa Mark IV

Well I hate to say it but channel 3 smokes my Mark V... It's no contest. Ive had my V for 3 years now and always rolled my eyes at the IV snobs. (they were right)

Mark IV troubleshooting, popping, volume fluctuating

Any update? My Mesa Mark IVb combo is also experiencing random volume jumps. It'll last for 15 seconds or so then drop back down to normal. The tone changes to a bassy/hallow sound during the spike.

Dual Recto - channel volume vs. master volume

With the loop engaged (but nothing plugged into the loop) the send and mix knobs are still active. Turn the mix knob off (10%) to have the best tone.

Mesa boogie mark iv or mark v advice

Ive found the differences between the IV mode on the V and the actual IV amp to decrease as the volume increases on the Mark V. The Mark IV is brutal at any volume but the V is way too smooth at low volumes (which isn't a bad thing), but the agression doesn't kick in until 90 watt cranked.

    Mark IV

Way off topic here but I have a question for you guys that don't play metal. Why did you pick a Mark? A Fender does channel 1 better and a Marshall does channel 2 better. Me, I'm a trash guy so I've gravitated towards Marks ever since I heard Hetfield back in the late 80's. But if I wasn't...

    new to the mark v

I'm specifically talking about channel 3 on a Mark. Its already super tight, I don't feel a TS9 adds anything. Every other amp I own definitely gets the Tubescreamer treatment, as does channel 2 on my V.
