All of a sudden the volume level across all 3 channels is very, very low. The loop send knob is set at 12 noon like it always is. If I hard-bypass the loop on the back everything seems to work fine. Once I engage the loop most of the volume disappears. This effects all channels in 10, 45 and 90...

The Flux Five is an OD pedal, meaning it's meant to push a tube amp into overdrive, or tighten up an already distorted amp. It's not an "amp in the box" style distortion pedal so that would explain why it pails in comparison to your Mark V. What you're looking for a "distortion" pedals, not...

As the title states, which amp would make a better power amp if you were going to use it as a slave? I'd be using it in a stereo setup with either a Mark IV or JCM 800 driving it. Not sure if there would be any difference but thought I'd ask.

Would a GCX loop be considered "isolated"?

I'm not sure if everyone's aware of this but Voodoo labs has a dedicated relay switcher that's only like $200. With 4 isolated relay controls it can toggle between all 3 channels on your Mark V and Recto in tandem. I would buy one of those and save your GCX loops for effects...

Oh - I thought he was trying to split the signal to both amps AND use the switching jacks to change channels. If he's just wanting to change channels on both amps with the GCX then send a GCX loop OUT or SEND (depending on if it's normally open or normally closed) to each amp's channel...

I have the exact same setup all working properly. Return that Y cable, you'll get ground loop hum. Buy a proper ABY pedal that has a ground lift switch like the Radial ones and split the signal and place it at the very end of your signal chain and split from there into the input of each amps...
