Tell me about James Hetfield's use of the Triple Rectifier

It may be because a Recto is so wide/huge sounding that it better mimics the layering of the Marks in the studio.

Tell me about James Hetfield's use of the Triple Rectifier

Stop the presses. I just picked a Mark IV combo today on an impulse buy at a local Fender shop. Had that amp on my mind lately and BAM there's one sitting on the floor in remarkably good condition. Anyway, it's definitley more Hetfield in a box through my recto 4x12's than is my Mark V. It's a...

Tell me about James Hetfield's use of the Triple Rectifier

Completely off topic but I know my Triple Rec in stereo with my Mark V in Mark IV mode nails Herfields tone way more than the Mark V alone.

Does Mesa still sell new Mark IV head shells?

Founds a great looking combo that I want to rehouse into a new head shell, does Mesa still offer these?

How much did you spend if you don't mine me askin? I would **** if I saw a Mark II at GC.

    Tremoverb - Whats wrong?

Maybe your tastes have changed. Rectos are grainy, that's their sound. Why'd you put EL34's in it?

Santana Tone (kind of...) with Mesa Mark V

How do you get Mark I mode brighter? It's just so damn dark even with the treble an presence maxed out.

Mini-Rectoverb 25 Combo and Head!!!! New from Mesa

Holy Jesus. I only payed $2099 for my Mark V.

Mini-Rectoverb 25 Combo and Head!!!! New from Mesa

Too expensive I'm afraid to have much turn-over.

    New to the Mark V

This. No amp on the planet is going to give you the Black Album tones. It's all studio magic and layer upon layers of guitar tracks.. You'll get closer if you run your Recto in stereo with you Mark V.

Boss tu2 bypass issues in effects loop

What amp? Even series loops may not send 100% of the signal through so you may get some bleed through. Most people keep the tuners out front or feed them with tuner-outs where available.

Deluxe Strat HSS or SSS for classic rock/punk/experimental?

Definitely HSS. If not definitely swap out the bridge for a mini humbucker like a hot rails or dimarzio Billy Corgan type pickup. You'll be very underwhelmed by a true single coil in the bridge unless you like that jangly Malmsteen trebly yucky sound.

    NGD! What cab...please help

Sweet guitar. Did you pay extra for the non-black front panel on your Mark V?

    NAD: Triple Rectifier - Multi-watt

Get another recto cab and play through the V and Recto together. You'll **** your pants. Instant Hetfield like you wouldn't believe. The recto fills out the low-end that the Mark IV mode lacks and the G adds the tightness and brightness that the recto lacks so the sound is absolutely massive.

    Extreme mode problem?

THIS! It's like they didn't give the Mark V it's own identity. What will you call the Mark V sound in 10 years - "Mark V IIC+ Mode?" You'd think they'd want the V to have it's own identity. By using "V" instead of "Extreme" they would have done just that. Makes no sense to me.

Need Help with TC G Major/FX Loop levels please

That's fine - I would just save up and get the Mini Amp Gizmo (or something similar) that will control every footswitch function. Then you'll have total MIDI control of your Mark V. Ditch that G Major for a G Major 2. Even if you're just using Reverb and Delay it's still worth it. Those are...

    Best recorded Mark V tones?

Think of each Mark amp as upgrades to the existing Mark sound. The Mark V still sounds like a Mark IV that still sounds like a Mark III so on and so forth. So listen to any Mark IIC+ or IV users and you can most likely get that tone on the V. It's not like a Marshall where each new amp is...

    Mark V effects loop

I have a G Major with my Mark V. Leave the send level on the back of the amp at noon (straight up). Make sure kill-dry is OFF on the G Major since the V has a series loop. (You'd turn kill-dry on with something like a dual recifier that has a parallel loop). Make sure the G Major is set to "Pro...

Need Help with TC G Major/FX Loop levels please

If you're still wondering about unity gain - most people just hit a chord and use their footswitch to turn the loop on and off and listen for a loss of volume or a jump in volume. Your goal is to hear no change in volume when the loop is engaged. You have to use the footswitch though, obviously...
