N.a.d mark 3 purple stripe drg.

Nice. My goal is to have a Mark III of every stripe. At the moment I only have a loaded blue stripe long head. Love the savagery of it.

Q: Value of my Mark IIB?

That serial is way too low to be a IIB. My IIA was serial 3116. Love to find it again and buy it from the current owner. Yours is a IIA by the serial number. The first Mark IIB was serial number 5575. Source: Mesa Zendesk...

The Mark V90, Longest running Mark Series to date

I have a nice little stash of square foil getter Beijing tubes, now I need to cycle them through an amp and sort out those that are good from those that are bad. Or varying degrees of somewhere in between. It was this thread that alerted me to their potential.

NAD: Mesa Boogie Mark VII head. WOW

All I really want to know is, just a summary, I have a Mark V:90 and mine is flawless. Everything always works on it. It's the one amp I'd grab if my house was on fire and I had time to save ONE. What does a Mark VII bring to the table over and above the Mark V? Would I have a reason to...

For Sale For sale feeler. I have 2 full stacks of half back mesa cabinets.

Check with local music stores to see if they might be able to help you out with shipping. They often have really good discounted shipping rates that makes it possible to deal in large items like 4x12 cabinets and make a profit. If you have a friend in that shop, that helps.

Mesa Mark II chassis screw size

8-32 pan head, available at your local hardware store. Should be about 1-1/4" long if you don't have sus-4 shock mounts.

Mark III + is a firebreather

I have a Blue Stripe, my second as a matter of fact. The first one was so good that I sought out another. I also have a Mark V which is in all honesty quite a fantastic amp and in particular when I run my 31 band graphic EQ in the loop, use the red channel, and tweak the EQ for the greatest...

Mark V Design Defect - Channel Switching Noise

I have a Mark V 90 and its channel switching is essentially noiseless.. Oh, there's some click, but it's low in level and in particular it would not be noticeable if you change channels while playing. However it's fair to point out that I neither gig with the amp nor record with it. What's...

    High-end digital. Axe FX, neural, etc . . .

My own experiences tells me that my Fractal Axe-FX does have a "real amp feel" when it's using a tube power amp as its power amp, and when it's connected to guitar and not FRFR cabinets. FRFR cabinets are very different in how the tone is produced, and while it may sound the same some...

    Vintage D180 on the bench

Long, long gone. Sold for a good price on ebay in late 2018.

    Mesa still doing hardwood cabinets?

So I'm ready to build my own Mark V 90 headshell. I've built cabinets and headshells before, it's not a problem. I bought two boards of some truly NICE flamed maple, sequential cuts off the same log, and they'll give me a wrap-around cabinet plus the off-cuts are actually big enough and...

    Mark IV footswitch

Mine didn't, or at least not much. But who'd use the rear switch during a gig? The footswitch is way better.

Two Triaxis bought, both claimed to be in top condition, both have a notable issue

Tone controls that behave incorrectly are often due to a leaky or shorted coupling capacitor. And if the leaky capacitor is intermittent, not always giving a problem, then the the problem will come and go.

    Mark V “Volume 1” and IIC++ mod

I had my concerns about losing a volume control in the Mark V as compared to a traditional Mark II/III setup, but actually using it, I've had no cause to pay any mind to those concerns. I've got about the same gain and tonal ranges that I do with my Mark III blue stripe and it actually can do...

    Mark IIb head shell build

I'll be doing my own version blue. If I do blue. I'm inclined to, but not absolutely dead set on it yet. It'll be vivid and rich.

    Mark IIb head shell build

Looking good. Haven't seen oak used for a Mesa headshell before. I'm about to build a Mark V: 90 headshell. I bought enough REALLY nice flamed maple for the project, and a new dovetail fixture, but while it's Chinese, it's well made except for one part, that being the template. Which is...

    NAD: Blue Angel

If people are willing to contribute knowledge of the Blue Angel to this topic, they are more than welcome to do so! I'm glad to have your contribution here. I've been an electronic technician my entire adult life and I know my way around a tube amp better than some people who call themselves...

Anyone replace their IIc+ with a Mark V?

I've never had a IIC+ but I have the next best thing, a Mark III blue stripe, and it is most definitely "in the balllpark", for sure. I also have a Mark V :90 and even if it doesn't quite duplicate a IIC+, it is still a super impressive, very well engineered amp that's absolutely full of...

    Mark IIB voicing...bassy?

I've got too many amps. It's taken me this long to get around to comparing my straight 60 watt Mark IIB to my other Mark amps. And found, that with the same EQ settings (via EQ in the loop) and with the same cabinet, that this amp, while it has PLENTY of gain, has a very bassy tone overall...

    Mark IIB Chasis Removal

Use a THIN steel sheet or scraper knife blade and slide it around the chassis edge and you'll feel what's holding it back. It's often just tolex rolled up in the gap between the chassis and the cabinet. Mesa's cabinets can be very tight sometimes, with so little clearance that the tolex is...
