    NAD - Nomad 55 2x12

Tried the Avatar cab, not a fan of the V30 with this amp, that mid spike was very predominant. Like everything else guitar related, I have a few sets of speakers to play with. Up first, a favorite of mine, the Eminence Swamp Thang. It’s a noticeable change from the C90s, I only had a few...

Epiphone Les Paul Custom from stock to FRX equipped.

I ordered a new transfer rod assembly and receiver to muck around with. Maybe I can get that screw more on center. https://www.floydrose.com/products/frx-transfer-rod-spring-receiver-cone-screws Dom

Anyone manage to make the Mark V 35 switch pinout work for an amp switching platform?

My EM Custom switcher arrived today, it was ordered 3/22, which was Friday night in Poland. One week delivery. Ordering another for my Nomad 55 this week. Dom

Cleaning the rugged leather casing on your Boogie combo

As already mentioned, only a good leather cleaner and conditioner on real leather. I like the Bick products. Do not use leather cleaner on suede or unfinished leather. When I buy a used amp or cabinet wrapped in vinyl I always start with dish detergent, specifically Dawn. I use two cloths...

Epiphone Les Paul Custom from stock to FRX equipped.

The LTD is a 14” radius neck, I had to shim the FRX saddles to match, and it matches quite well. I really like the 14” radius, it compliments the neck shape. Yes the video with Alex is what had me looking at Epi’s in the first place. It really is a nice guitar for the money. Dom

Epiphone Les Paul Custom from stock to FRX equipped.

Agreed, I already own 4 red guitars 😂 There are zero CS6’s with a FR on eBay, and one breathtaking specimen on Reverb for about $2K with shipping. As tempted as I am to buy that guitar, it defeats the purpose of having a cheap mass produced guitar for seedy gigs. It really is pretty though…...

    NAD - Nomad 55 2x12

I’m really digging this amp. Great clean tones in ch 1, and pushed mode with a TS-808 is a syrupy goodness with a PAF Pro in the neck of a Les Paul that’s really addicting. Reverb sounds great in ch 1. I bonded with ch 3 right away, very recto-ish big bottom end but not as tight when in normal...

Change preamp tubes, Fillmore 25 head

Welcome to the forum! I’m guessing this is a head. I’m not sure about the front panel, grab a flashlight and look inside the head a see if there are screws in the back of the front panel. They might not be accessible with the chassis still in the head shell. Have you tried flipping it upside...

    Wind/white noise coming from amp

That sounds like a bad 12AX7 tube. Do you have a spare? Swap a good 12AX7 into each tube position until you find the bad tube. Be sure to turn off the power before changing tubes. Be careful, tubes can get pretty hot. Dom
