NAD!! I guess Badlander goes in this section?

Congrats... I totally concur with those BAD takes. :) Having 4 other Mesas the Badlander was noticeably different right off the bat. Yea the clean voicing is not FAT like a IV/V but for sure dropping pickup vol helps. What pickups are in your Les Paul? What's your take on 20 vs 50W?

Wanted Like to Trade my MC-90 8 ohm for a 16 ohm version

So I have an 8 ohm MC-90 in excellent condition, would like to trade it for an MC-90 @ 16 ohms in similar condition. Thanks

    Badlander and the EVM 12L

Yea exactly. Mesa has always said it was a "Fresh Take" on the Rectifier. I don't have a Rect so I can't honestly compare. But to me it's a bit more like my Stiletto but more refined and tonally focused around the Crunch voicing. Not as bright either. I do sometimes miss the dense type of...

    Badlander and the EVM 12L

Excellent, totally dig my 50W, pretty much been running it live on 20W cause the Triode has a feel that works for me, but the Pentode mode is pretty kick butt. I love my Marks but man this is a great amp, so easy to get a good tone out of. While I think the EVM Thiele is most excellent...

    60w red-stripe mark iii: fake?

I would like to have a III but I don't :( that aside I always was lead to believe the Blue Stripe was the brightest voiced of the III iterations? What speakers are you running?

Need urgent help with Mk V

Yea "precise" is the operative word in recording especially if you have a sound in your head you are looking for. I do like the Mark 1 mode but the settings are so much different then Crunch or Edge, for me it's not worth using it live. Of course live there are so many more variables that play...

Need urgent help with Mk V

Well volume does make a difference, if the amp is set at too low a volume it can sound fizzy and muddy and EQ adj don't do as much. It doesn't need to be super cranked but there is a minimum volume threshold to get past. As mentioned before if you are looking for that midrangy Santana lead tone...

What specific settings have you tried so far? Details are kinda important WRT settings.

Need urgent help with Mk V

Just one V:90 players opinion here and no there is nothing weird going on. :) I find there is often a perception of the V:90 being some kind of chameleon amp, it can masquerade as a Fender or a Marshall. Urrr No... it attempts to be a collection of Mesa Mark amps with other voicings sprinkled...

Need urgent help with Mk V

Yes, that would be the best place to start. The V:90 can be initially overwhelming with all of the options. I'd suggest looking at the manual and the sample settings they provide pgs 44-46. The "Fat Lady and All Blues" settings will provide some Mark I specifics. If you want a bit more sag...

Need urgent help with Mk V

What model V? 90, 25 or 35W if it is a 90W I would suggest trying Ch 2 Mark 1 voicing. Personally I wouldn't use the v30s for the Carlos tone.

    Post your Mark V photos

I believe that is actually true IMHO :) Man how is that combo sounding????

Question about Channel Volumes vs. Master Volume

That's always good news to start there. The V:90 allows the player many options to explore. IMHO it depends in large part on the overall volume and the balance between preamp/power section. Running the "Channel Volumes high and the Master Volume low" will deemphasize the power section...

A Live JP2C Implementation... Any Others?

Yea, I heard it :D... there was alot to "love" about that rig tone. FWIW I experimented with that balance of pre-amp/power amp gain levels and running the master up with a reactive load and then reamped from the Slave Out. There's certainly more headroom to play with and easing back on the Chan...

    Just wanted to introduce myself!

Welcome... maybe post a pic of that new rig in the Rectifier sub forum :)

A Live JP2C Implementation... Any Others?

Man I can't help but nerd dive a bit further. The slave out being a tap off the output transformer then the Cabclone must have been active. Thanks to @bandit2013 for the descriptive pic here. Unlike the Badlander and others you have to flip the switch to enable operation without a load...
