    Badlander and the EVM 12L

Curious who has run their Badlanders with an EVM 1x12? Just spent a weekend tweaking in a BAD 50W with a Thiele EVM and dang if that wasn't floating my boat big time. Have always been a bigtime Mark - EVM fanboy and this Thiele is most excellent with either the V:90 or the IIC+, but find the EVM...

    LSS hissing noise

Is the hiss effected at all by the selection of chan power ie: 100/50/10 (if it has 10W)? Perhaps a long shot... as a quick test pull the 5Y3 Rect Tube, select "Diodes" on the rear panel. Power up and check if anything changes WRT to the hiss. The other thing you can try is to isolate the...

    Well that's unfortunate - footswitch

yea... sure appears that Rect footswitch is essentially the same controller. Does it activate the solo function? If it does I'd suspect the chan footswitch may be bad.

    Well that's unfortunate - footswitch

Have you tried it on both the front panel and the rear panel? The front panel has both chan/solo control (stereo cable), the rear panel has individual controls (mono).

    New amps?

Yea there is always the GAS  can't help myself. The rabbit hole was deep initially but fortunately I have excellent amp/cab/speaker solutions for all the rigs. But can't help tinkering.

Speakers for 3/4 back cabinet with Rectoverb 25

Yea, 6) (y) been running a Thiele EVM with the Badlander 50 recently. Didn't expect the EVM to sound that good with it, but it is a stellar pairing.

    New amps?

Well I would just to look cool in the parking lot :ROFLMAO: need all the help I can get. But... Oh yea no doubt. IMHO it's the rabbit hole that has to be dug. It's a bit too simplistic to place all of the tonal heavy lifting on the amp itself. They are interact together in a big way. I have...

Another Recto Horizontal 2x12 Speaker Change?

Yea no kidding :) Just fishing for ideas, going to consider the RB with the MC-90, hadn't thought about that before. I see the v30/DV77 pairing gets some positive comments too.

Another Recto Horizontal 2x12 Speaker Change?

Ok still kicking this around. I've swapped the MC-90 back in to the Recto 2x12. It's running the pseudo Road King Cab config, Mesa V30/MC-90 and the modified back cover. Great cab for the LSS but for the V:90 it's missing something. It's a bit too tight and immediate, lacking the low end...

Vintage Mark-style PCB and chassis kit

Thanks... reason for me asking was I'm pretty sure I've lost the Treble Shift on my IIC+. Haven't poked around yet to verify for sure, but it seems likely as there's not much else to that circuit control. Also pinged Mesa with no response. :( So appreciate you chiming in.

Vintage Mark-style PCB and chassis kit

I'm curious so are the "Xvive VACTROL LED OPTOCOUPLER VACTEC VTL5C1" a suitable replacement or not? I've read some posts that say they are ok, others not. Appreciate you weighing in. TIA

What Speakers Sound Good With Mark V 90-Watt Head?

hmmm my mental gears are rotating  powered by GAS. This is not a good thing typically cause it leads to an acquisition. Sigh I will try to abstain, please folks do not add any fuel to the fire, it is a weak moment. :ROFLMAO:

What Speakers Sound Good With Mark V 90-Watt Head?

Man I want a 4x12... bad. Just gotta figure out a place to fit it in, there's no room. :ROFLMAO:

What Speakers Sound Good With Mark V 90-Watt Head?

Yea... no doubt. However IMHO this is especially true with the V:90. It seems this amp is extremely responsive to changes with speakers, cabs, tubes, pickups and overall signal path settings. Choice of speakers, I feel have the most tonal impact on any amp. FWIW my other Mesas (IIC+, Stiletto...

V:90... Setting channel master levels vs output

Been using my V:90 live for a while now, do dig the amp for many reasons, versatility for one. Anyway soliciting any input from those who have used one live in multiple venues. Going to get into the weeds here One question is if anyone has found optimum level settings for channel masters vs...
