What made you decide to buy a mesa boogie?

my amp was discovered by me for a friend of mine who needed a new amp at a Sam Ash. I said ... wow look at this Mesa! (Roadking) and my friend bought it. We formed a band together and this friend of mine plugged a Strat into it and it sounded like a Paul! I dug the sounds he got better than my...

You use glue on your cab as well as screws?

Hi all.. I was wondering if glue on the back board of a rect 4x12 or between a guitar speaker and the wood it is fastened to .. Does glue alter the sound of a 4x12? Or did I forget to do something very important in sealing my cab shut?

awesome thread!!!! Learned some more about tubes, Mesa and how they do business.. I get a lot of crap from the other local guitarists who are using Bogner, Marshall, Diezel but I will go to the stage anyday with my Roadking I. I use the SPAX7 preamp tube Until I get a Roadking II

    4x12, 2x12 - baffle pads.... V30's C90's

Well ... I supposed that would work too but I like the idea of a buffered baffle.. The C90's had a lot of vibration and I had to unscrew the back and glue what in my mind is a pad to the end of the baffle. once I did that the rattle was gone and I had that nice Celestion sound I used to get...

    4x12, 2x12 - baffle pads.... V30's C90's

So when I installed the Mesa 4x12 straight angled recto cab with C90's the back was rattling like crazy.. then I glued the baffle foam rubber pad on the back of the baffle (I swapped speakers from another cab) and the rattling went away. The cabs with Vintage 30's have these small horizontal...

    Post your rig part 2

well... the C90's are less harsh than the V30's so I use orange channel with the C90's with the channel set to RAW for aa nice broken up tone... The C90's kicks *** on yellow and green (clean channels) but I put the yellow on the V30's and the green on the C90's.. The Vintage 30's owns the red...

    JJ's el34's biased #38 and #39

Can these be used together? I broke the key off the other EL34 which was numbered 38 in the bias point.... one tube has a red dot on the bottom... what does that indicate? just checking before I get wrecked with my bread and butter

    Post your rig part 2

    Tube mismatch

good to know.... I had a funny experience today... a key broke off into the key socket... easy to get out but now I have Mesa EL34's and JJ 6L6'S with JJ 5UGB's in my Roadking ... any danger in matched pairs of different brands of tubes?

ISP Decimator Pedal... where in the chain can I put it? RK1

well... I play that Tele and I was told to plug directly into the amp.... bypassing my Tuner, boost Dyna comp and Budda wah. The pedals in front make the guitar with single coils noisy.. I hope the ISP last in the chain will knock out some of that noise but I dont know how all this will work...
