For those who want a Mark V Combo...

Eric at Guitar Czar in Salt Lake City has one that came in today. I asked him to call me when it came in in case I didn't have one yet. It is in. Someone snatch it up quick: http://www.guitarczar.com/

    My MARK V Combo Clips

I had the AXE-Fx Standard for about 8 months and had to let it go. I could never get it to sound right as an "all in one" amp sim without using it as part of an effects chain into a real amp - kind of defeating the purpose. Plus the tweaking... the ENDLESS tweaking. I've just got more to do than...

No MIDI Channels switching on Mark V????

I am going to keep this amp and take all of the advice posted here. As I sort out the midi issue and solution - I will post a video showing how I finally figured it out and set it all up with my rig. The amp is just too good to let go. It's just... bad ***... 8) I appreciate everyones advice...

I think that AMP GIZMO is a good possible solution. I am glad everybody likes the vids so far.

No MIDI Channels switching on Mark V????

I've just been playing for an hour - it is now after midnight - you could talk over the volume level - and all 3 channels - no **** - sound amazing. The 10 watt mode is just nutz. This is a very versatile amp. I think I need to do another demo...

    My MARK V Combo Clips

Stock - 490R & 498T I think. Whatever Gibson puts in the studio's. This guitar sounds better than my Black Beauty Custom. It is much warmer. And lighter.

    My MARK V Combo Clips

The heavy sounds are there - I am sure the next fifteen people to demo this amp will do nothing but shred their little petrucci wanking nuts off - so fear not children of the metal - other people - much more qualified to give you that "stock" mark IV tone will get to it. It is in the amp - I am...

No MIDI Channels switching on Mark V????

I, um, asked when I checked it out at the Boogie Store and the guy said yes. Perhaps he didn't know what I meant? It does after all "look" like a 7 pin midi switch when looking at it. It's all good. There's lots of amps out there these days. Probably going back tomorrow. Enjoy your workarounds. 8)

No MIDI Channels switching on Mark V????

Axxess FX CFX4 is $159 + $50 for the Mark V cable - which doesn't exist as of this writing. Plus then you have 4 cables to plug into the amp - and then you program it. Then you program your midi controller - then you cross your fingers... I don't know about you - but I have way too much to...

    My MARK V Combo Clips

For what it is worth - I'm no shred-master - and I prefer The Police over Petrucci - but here ya go. 3 Vids for 3 of my Guitars: #1 LES PAUL - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziHbHfcr8wg #2 TELECASTER - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cw0sPkAaWB4 #3 STRATOCASTER -...

Mark V Clean vs. LSC Clean

The Mark V Clean is the best clean I've played in a long time. 3 modes - all a bit different but all very musical. It is the easiest channel of the 3 to dial in. I am posting my demo vid in a bit.

No MIDI Channels switching on Mark V????

That is like what... another $1500? Plus you need the Wah/CC controllers - plus the extra rack space - plus the cabling bullshit and then programming all of this... Look - Boogie got the amp right and the lack of midi WRONG! all that crap could be eliminated with a simple midi channel...

No MIDI Channels switching on Mark V????

PIcked up a combo yesterday and I am sad to say that there is no midi switching on this amp. This is a major bummer for me as I need to run a single midi pedal setup that can switch channels as well as do midi changes for effects. Major drag. :(

Buying A Used Mark IV combo

Are there any obvious things I should look for? Any tips in checking out a used Mark IV would be appreciated. I would expect to replace tubes and such, but other than that...

How to get this tone out of my Mark IV

That sound is a classic rock staple: maple neck Stratocaser with single coils in pickup position 2 (out of phase) running into a Tube Screamer du jour (take your pick - there are many good ones on the market) into a cranked tube amp on the verge of distortion. Try channel 1.

    I want my Mark V!

Went to Hollywood Mesa store and played the Mark V combo. Instantly knew that I had to have it. Sound was great from Funk to Thunk on the tele and the LP style guitars I played it with. I need an amp that is compact - versatile - easy to dial in and can go from Nile Rodgers style cleans to...
