    Mesa V-Twin hum

Hi all, Does anyone have any idea what could be causing an unacceptable amount of hum from my Mesa V-Twin? I am using it in the effects loop of a Boss GT-8. Can't be an earth loop as there is no earth pin on the power supply and no earth pin on the power supply of the GT-8 either. Any help...

    Triaxis suddenly dropping level

Hi all, I have an oldish Triaxis and it has just recently started to randomly drop level by about 90% while I am playing. This seems to happen in all modes and I can usually solve the problem by turning it off and back on again. Any suggestions as to what causes this? Thanks in advance for any...

    Triaxis sounds

I know the Triaxis is well known for its rock sounds but has anyone had to get good country sounds and really nice clean lead sounds from it? I've experimented a bit but would like some other opinions. Thanks in advance. Gear: Tom Anderson Grand Am and Fender Telecaster 52 reissue Triaxis (non...

    Suggestions for speaker cabinet

Thanks Joe. My restricting factor is the amount of room I have to set up in. A large portion of my work is in orchestra pits where real estate is a premium. I have to share the pit sometimes with up to 20 or more musicians. Thanks for your suggestions, I'll look into it. I am pretty much...

    Suggestions for speaker cabinet

Hi All, Could I please get some advice on a Mesa speaker cabinet. I am about to go with a Triaxis and 2:90 power amp. Can anyone tell me what would be the best 2X12 Mesa cabinet to use with this set up? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Triaxis Jazz settings

Thanks I hadn't thought to try the Rhythm yellow mode as I figured it might be a bit too thin sounding. I'll give that a try.

    Triaxis Jazz settings

Can anyone please give me some advice on jazz settings for a Mesa Triaxis? I am currently running the Triaxis through the power stage of a Mesa MarkIII (FX return) and my jazz guitar is an Ibanez GB10. I have got a setting that works but I'm still not in love with it. I must say that the Triaxis...

    Cab for rack setup

Thanks that's all a big help. I'll chew all that over. Cheers

    Cab for rack setup

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I would prefer a 2X12 cab just for convenience and also most of the time I wouldn't be able to separate the two speakers if I had 2, 1 X 12 cabs. I've been looking at the Mesa website and it seems that the 2 X 12 cabs won't handle the 180 watts of the 2:90...

    Cab for rack setup

    Triaxis Midi program change

I am using a Triaxis and changing midi programs using a Boss GT-8. I am ablt to get up to program 100 on the Triaxis and then I go up to the next bank on the GT8 and the Triaxis goes back to program 1 again, when I know there are 128 midi programs available on the Triaxis. Can anyone please tell...

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

I had the Mark III checked and the whole problem seems to have been a blown power valve. I have seen a lot of problems with valves but never seen one do what this one was doing...I guess we are always learning!! Thanks for all your help. Cheers

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

Thanks for your suggestion but I tried reducing the master output level of the GT8 to almost nothing and it is still doing the same thing. A really annoying attack when I pick a little hard. I have just discovered a serious problem with the Mark III that I am using for a power amp. I'll have it...

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

It seems to be still making the noise with the FX loop bypassed. I don't think my guitar has particularly hot pickups so the input to the TRI shouldn't be overloading. I've also got the master of the Mark III power amp very low. I've also tried reducing the master of the TRI just in case that...

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

Thanks for your suggestion but I tried reducing the master output level of the GT8 to almost nothing and it is still doing the same thing. A really annoying attack when I pick a little hard. I really thought that would fix it. Any other suggestions?

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

I did try the 4 cable method but didn't like the sound as much. I thought the only effect that needed to be before the TRI was wah, and I have a Jim Dunlop wah if I need it. I don't use the one in the GT8. Is the only way to match the line levels by A/B each link in the chain? That's the only...

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

Thanks, Yes I have all simulators and preamps on the GT8 turned off. I think you may be right I may be overloading the TRI FX return. I'll give that a go.

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

Thanks, I did try that method but I think it sounds better going straight into the TRI.

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

Thanks, yes I have all simulators and preamps turned off on the GT8. I only use the GT8 for chorus, delay, reverb etc. I'm also using the GT8 as a midi controller for the Triaxis, just for changing patches on the Triaxis and that obviously changes the patch on the GT8 as well. I've got the...

    Mesa Triaxis and Boss GT-8

I'm wondering if anyone can help me here. I have seen a similar post but not the same problem. I have Mesa Triaxis which I'm using with a GT-8 and a Mesa Mark III. Set up is: Gtr > Triaxis Triaxis FX send > GT8 input GT8 output > Triaxis FX return Triaxis output . FX return of Mesa Mark III...
