Stereo Chorus: Does anyone use a stereo setup?

Yeah, I was running the Mark V with a Twin Reverb. I loved it but I'm now enjoying going with a EL34 based amp even more. So right now, I either go V or Twin in stereo with a Orange Rockerverb. Something about a 6L6 & EL34 / American & British blend that is really nice. Try it if you can!

Speakers for a Vintage 2x12 Slant Metal Grill Halfback

Yep, that's the one I just got. NCD! I found a pretty clean one that matched a .50 Cal Head. C-90 on top, VS-12 on bottom. From my research, the VS-12 doesn't seem to get a lot of love. Guess we'll see. I need to check the wiring, but I would assume both 8ohm speakers would be wired to 4ohm...

Speakers for a Vintage 2x12 Slant Metal Grill Halfback

Thank you! Hard to find much info on these cabs, but those that have them seem to love them.

Speakers for a Vintage 2x12 Slant Metal Grill Halfback

Nice! This would make me want to try the EV in the bottom first. But aren't both your speakers 8 ohm? I'm under the impression that these 2x12s were originally wired 4 ohm. Wrong?

Speakers for a Vintage 2x12 Slant Metal Grill Halfback

(Posted this in the Mark V forum, but since it's a vintage cab, I figured I'd post here as well.) I've been looking for this cab for quite some time. Most I've seen for sale have been trashed. Finally I found one that looks mint, at a great price, but both speakers have been replaced with...

Speakers for a Vintage 2x12 Slant Metal Grill Halfback

I've been looking for this cab for quite some time. Most I've seen for sale have been trashed. Finally I found one that looks mint, at a great price, but both speakers have been replaced with 16ohm V-30s. I have a horizontal recto 2x12 with V-30s that I dig, but I can't help to want to bring...

What tones can you NOT get from a Mark V?

Thanks guys. Now that I have my Mark V, I know what y'all mean. I'm loving it. Still learning. Right now, channel one is blowing my mind, getting most of my play/tweak time. Funny, I've been playing for over 25 years. Never thought I'd get an amp and have to read the manual 3 times, and then...

    Super frustrated!

If it sounds good in the stage mix it should sound good out front, not thin. Bring a trusted guitar friend detective out to the gig.

What tones can you NOT get from a Mark V?

Thanks guys.  I just got my Mk V head today, so I'm starting the exploration. Loving it, and I've only scratched the surface.

What tones can you NOT get from a Mark V?

Yeah, not trying to be delusional :) I love that it is a collection of Marks, I just can't help but think that with all the tone shaping capabilities, it could get you the "vibe" of most anything.  It's easy to get into Fender territory on the clean channel. So can you get into British...

What tones can you NOT get from a Mark V?

Hi guys!  First post, been a lurker for some time now.  About to pull the trigger on a Mark V, very excited, but I gotta ask... All the V's I've played have been with 6l6's. If I go with 34's, could I get close to a JTM? Close to a 800? Close to an AC30? (yes, different tubes, but still)...
