    Pros Of Two Heads

Well, I have the Stiletto trident (version 1) and in my opinion it absolutely SMOKES the 5150. We have a 5150 2-12 combo in the studio and I found the gain to be to much to soon and buzzy. As well as thin. Distorts to no end but tons of feedback and really not usable gain or tone. Plus the...

    Pros Of Two Heads

I Run a dual amp setup. A stiletto (series 1) for the classic British metal type tone & the Killer clean it has and then a Dual Rectifier (3 channel) for the modern BIG HEAVY tones and the dirty bluesy clean I set it up for. 5 channels of Mesa Bliss!

Anyone else fatigued by the "recto sound"?

That "chugga chugga" sound is a "style" not the amp. I got really sick of that "Hair metal" sound in the 80's but I didnt blame Marshall for it. ALL amps are at the mercy of the player plugged into them. Remember Lindsey Buckinham also plays thru a Dual Rec. TONS of tones are inside...

dual rec needs new tubes, any suggestions?

I have the same head as you. I just put a set of JJ's I got from EUROTUBES in mine and I love them. E34L's in the power and ECC83s in the preamp. I bought the GZ34's rectifiers also but they caused the fuse to pop. When I called they told me to go up a fuse size because I am running E34L's...

    Is it just me..... (SOLVED)

I am not gigging at the moment..... they stay set up in my studio. I figure ear fatigue does play a factor as well. I must say that I have never spent so much time and money trying to get an amp to dial in (speakers & tubes & pickups). Like I said before, Just wondering if this was a "Mesa...

    Is it just me..... (SOLVED)

Or does it seem that Mesa amps tone constantly changes. I have a Stiletto Trident and a triple channel Dual Rec & I am CONSTANTLY tweaking on both of them. It seems that once I dial in a tone I like after a while (maybe a few minutes maybe a day) it changes. Like it will slightly lose...

    Stiletto Owners!!!

http://www.myspace.com/fritzotto The Song Holy War I am using a Stiletto Trident series 1 on that with 2 tung sol's in v1 and v2. and JJ ecc83's in the rest of the preamp and JJ E34L's in the power section. No Mods..... Just re-tubed it. The Leads are done on my Rectifier. I LOVE the Trident...

    Stiletto not turning on

DO NOT plug your 16 ohm cab into anything other than a 16 ohm load..... safe mismatch is intended when you run more than 1 cabinet..... you can however rewire your 16 ohm cab and make it 4 ohms with ease.....

    6l6 in stiletto

Thats what I was thinking to..... I love my stage 1 stiletto trident so much I put E34L's in my Rectifer as well.....

4x12 cab decision for my TR [help needed!]

I use the oversize cab as well with V-30's with my Dual Rec. and I found it boomy on the bottom and the highs would get shrill. What I did is to put 2 runs of regular house insulation across the back and that helped the boomy lows (also started running E34L's to) and for the highs I made some...

    two different cabs

According to my Dual Rectifier manual you can run to cabs of different ohm ratings safely. I have done it and never had any problems. in your case to run both cabs you need to plug your Marshall cab in the 16 ohm hole in mono on the cab into the 8 ohm send on the head & plug your 8 ohm cab into...

    URGENT!!! HELP--MAVERICK QUESTION/ADVICE

I had 2 Maverick 2-12 combos & they sounded great. (First Mesa amps I ever owned) I prefer a touch more dirty then they got. Dont get me wrong, they got plenty dirty but not that over the top recto sound. I guess I got used to them because I now miss them. The 35 watt class A watts was plenty...

2 or 3 channel dual rectifier - which one?

I have the three channel Dual Rectifier and it is awesome!!! I cant imagine the 2 channel sounding any better, but if it does it would have to be one hell of an amp to top the triple. I really dont think you could go wrong either way. I chose the triple for the extra voice. So on that one I...

    Name your Power Tube Poison

Well in my Stiletto I put a matched sextet of JJ E34L's in it from Eurotubes and so far it has worked out perfect. In my Dual Rectifier I currently have JJ 6L6GC's..... I still havent decided if thats the way I am going to go on that one.

    Boogie (s) + G-Major question

I have a Mesa Stiletto Trident & a Dual Rectifier. What I was wondering is, can I run one head through say the left side and the other thru the right side of the G-Major? I dont want to be in stereo I use each head for what it brings. but I would love to use the G-Major on both heads. I love...

    Stiletto Stage I.. Instant Classic

I love my Trident. I run it and my dual rec. side by side and they both sound excellent! Different from one another but both great. I know where people are comming from with the problems they have had with the series one Stiletto's but, I noodled with tubes and settings until I dialed it in...
