REISSUE Rumor: Mark IIC+ and 2ch Recto

The original simulclass amps allowed for a mix of 6L6 and EL34 at the same time and that contributes to the famous sound. Are these modern versions not really the OG simulclass if they are 6L6-only?

    Mark IIc Faceplate

I have exactly the same on a IIC combo (pre C+), and I think you are right about them tweaking B faceplates as they shifted into C.

Did Wicker Only Come on Hardwood?

BTW, I flipped an original 83 catalog that I have and no mention of wicker option (just hardwood), but I think the amps we see in the wild confirm that wicker came on tolex.

I now have confirmation from Mesa that the pictured wiring is indeed pentode on the outer sockets and that the 7/89 amp is a green stripe. Pics were necessary to determine (serial number alone was not determinative).

Mark III Green versus Blue Stripe (SNs within 700 units)

Good morning, I have two long heads, reverb, simulclass, graphic -- one is a chassis date of 4/89 and SN 24,7xx and the other 7/89 SN 25,4xx. Both are a pretty close, completely ambiguous shade of blue green stripe. I am pretty sure the 4/89 is a blue stripe (on another forum someone...
