    FS - TWO (2) Electrovoice ZX4 Speakers

We've been using this pair of ZX4's as our main FOH speakers for just about two years now in all kinds of bars, clubs, and halls. Perfect on their own for the smaller gigs... add a pair of subs like we would and you're good to go for much larger venues. We practically baby our stuff, so...

FS - 1979 Ibanez Musician bass

This is one awesome bass... that I wouldn't be selling if I didn't absolutely HAVE to! Here's a link to some pics I've posted on MySpace: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.editAlbumPhotos&albumID=2198727&MyToken=44a5b103-06ea-4ae1-9098-7e6c6f442166 The electronics have...

    Another 400+ question

I know the one I've got has a non-detachable power cord, but I don't know what year it was built. Is there a serial number decoder anywhere online? Or do we have to contact Mesa for that?

    Bass 400+ question

+1 on the Rickenbacker hum... depending on your surroundings it can be a whole lot more noticeable than your typical Fender hum!

Walkabout has weak output and is running hot!

I realize that this is a fairly old thread, but I'm new here... so... My Walkabout Scout sounds best when both the input and master volumes are run at or below 12 o'clock. I'd think that you'd be able to get some decent grind out of it, but NOT into the Scout cabs. IMO, those cabs do best at...

    Walkabout Scout questions

+1 on the LOUD aspect of the Walkabout... especially with the Radiator extension cab hooked up! The punchiness of the 400+ isn't automatically there, but the LOW END that this little rig puts out is just INSANE!!!

    Q: Buster 2x10" Combo & Diesel 1x15"

I personally wish that Mesa would reintroduce the Buster as a more manageable 1x12 combo... with a matching 1x12 extension cab! An all-tube version of the Walkabout, if you will! I always thought the 1x15 Buster combo I owned for awhile was an awesome sounding, but unwieldy beast! But I'd be...

    Mesa 400+

I'm new here, but if I'm not mistaken, you could hook those up one of two ways... A) Use two cables running out of the two 4 ohm jacks on the back of the 400+... one cable to each cab. OR... B) Use one cable out of one of the 400+'s 4 ohm jacks into one of the 2x10's speaker input jacks...

    Bass compressor

+1 on the Trace Elliot Dual Band Compressor! I used to use one a few years ago, and find myself wishing I still had it every now and again!

    Mesa Boogie 400+ amp

This is the classic "Fender Tone Stack" that people talk about... It sort of acts like a volume control for each individual frequency band. I switched out the first preamp 12AX7 for a 12AU7 (the infamous Psycho Bass Guy Mod) and found that it made the amp more flexible/suitable for pop, rock...

    Mesa 400+

Really... is there ever 'too much power' for a bassist?

What Mesa bass rig do you use?

I was, until recently... playing through a Bass 400+ and one or two PowerHouse 212's. Some health issues forced my hand, and I'm now running a Walkabout Scout combo on top of a Radiator 12 extension cab. MASSIVE low end!!!
