I also have 2 black shadows that i own with my me mesa nomad combo and id not really notice a huge difference. I think a lot of it is the tubes according to a lot of different responses i have read online. I could be wrong though i think overall i am pretty happy with the mesa cab with v 30's...

Just wanted to know can i order online a fuse for my dual rect and nomad 55? They dont need them but i am sure they are not to expensive. It is always good to have back up at a gig or band practice :)

I hate to but i have to agree that good cables does make somewhat of a difference in sound. I have never had a problem of buzz or noise since i switched to planet waves and monster cables.

^^^ Yep i run my echo,chorus and phaser through the loop and i can tell a huge difference. The volume seems to increase and sounds way better.

All of the choices listed sound good but dont overlook the nomad 55. It is one of the best blues amps out there it works well with a tele or strat and even a les paul for that matter :)

SAmhill, Did you have to drill to put the active EMG in your les paul? I have 2 les pauls and would love to stick a 81/85 emg's in it but i am not so sure about drilling on my beauties. Got any pics where you drilled or store your baterry pack? Please post so it will give me some ideas

I have heard JJ's are 1 of the best and give you a darker sound? I am looking for the best metal sounding tubes on the market. Will my dual rectifier blow up if i dont use mesa tubes? Will it overheat or mess up? I like mesa but i think its a load of crap that we are suppose to only use mesa...

Hey guys i have 2 mesa's a dual head and a nomad 55 1x12 combo. When i hook up my nomad 1x12 combo to my 4x12 cab do i turn the speaker off on the combo? Its got a switch that allwos me to. Sorry for such a dumb question but i am unsure. Thanks in advance to all that reply :D

Sorry i cannot help you out but how is the amp? My band mate just got one 2 days ago and i have not heard it yet (he lives in another state). I have a dual and he has the mode 4 i hope they sound good together.
