    Lunch Box Recto

LOL, i know, right? well, my budget is not unlimited ... if i had $2k to spend on heads alone, i'd have just kept my roadster and used the money to pay a college kid to schlep it around for me :D .. and dealing with two heads and switches and cabs and cables is going in the wrong direction for...

    NAD Roadster!

congrats i bet you 'll love it i loved mine - was just too loud and too heavy /inconvenient for my application (band with old farts  )

    Lunch Box Recto

i am so torn on whether to lean towards a ta-15 or a mini recto .. i loved my roadster for tonal flexibility .. but was too impractical (loud and heavy) so i had to sell it .. these lunchbox amps seem to really fit the bill for smaller and great tone without the crushing volume needed to get...

    Lonestar Special and PRS???

well, i played an sc245 through a lonestar special at a GC one afternoon ... i now own an sc245 .... and i intend to own a LSS 1x12" combo before years end in the store, with only limited twiddlin time, i got excellent warm but well-defined cleans out of it ... really happenin gritty to crunchy...

anyone have a chance to play a new 5:25 1x12" combo yet

i am very curious to hear reports from the field ... nowhere local for me to play one yet ... did the larger cab get rid of the 'boxiness'? try with single coils or humbuckers? clean ? gritty? more gain? tell tell tell :D thanks t4d

    Roadster- too much all around

cool - as long as you've found the tone that inspires your playing ... go for it! i can relate ... i replaced my roadster with a blues junior (modded) and a zendrive pedal (soon to add either a crunch box or twintube classic) ... t4d

    Roadster- too much all around

i disagree severely (but respectfully) with nathan as i think you know(from here and on the SDUGF), i had a roadster head too .. i was IN LOVE with the tones(never minded knob twiddlin to get all the varieties out of it), but couldnt get on with my bandmates who ragged on me for being too loud...

    LSS or the Classic

i'd be happy to share my (limited) experience with both of them i played an LSC with R8 LP and it was fine, but not especially happenin ... nice cleans and reasonable crunch rhythm, but didnt really get it done for me in the smooth singing sustain department i played a prs sc 245 thru a LSS...

how cool would this be ...

not exactly - sorry if i was unclear i meant 5-15-30 watts INSTEAD of 50/100, not in addition to 50/100 and the idea of slaving out a roadster gets away from the convenience angle i was trying to get at .. not having to carry around a load box and another power amp .. just all in a 1x12"...

how cool would this be ...

a roadster 1x12" combo with everything a roadster has but instead of 50-100 W settings, it would have 5-15-30 w settings man, i'd dig that thoughts? t4d

New LSS - my fingers are aching!

i respect others opinions on the LSS liking / not liking humbuckers but i gotta tell ya, i played a PRS 245 thru a LSS 1x12" combo today and it had amazing tone everywhere from cleans, thru gritty/crunchy, all the way to classic rock singing solo tones ... i only played it in 5W mode, but that...

    Roadster and pickup questions

i have a seymour duncan JB in the bridge of my brian moore i88.13 and a roadster head that i play through 1 or 2 1x12" boogie cabs (closed back 8 ohm, 90w celestions) Output: plenty! Bass Response: interestingly, i think plenty .. it only SOUNDS like there isnt enough because there are so many...

    Getting into a 2x12 cab?

Hated the Roadster and now love it

i am digging my roadster head more and more as i tweak with it ... but i think i need new cab(s) to get best tone results ... i currently have 2 early 90s 1x12" recto (closed back) cabs with celestion 90w speakers ... dunno if the roadster 1x12 or 2 x12 cab woul dbe better for me or not ... or...

    Best HumBucker's for a Ibanez Sabre (s)for a markIV.?

gambale plays duncan JBs NOW in his signature yamaha model through the carvin rack rig ... back when gambale played the ibanez sabre (540s) through the mesa gear and bag end speakers, it was dimarzio dual sound (same as super distortion but with coil split ability)
