Tell me about this Mark II please (pictures)

Not an expert but that's a 60-watt IIA. Beautiful clean sound and nice warm breakup on that channel. And loud. IMO the lack of verb and EQ isn't a big deal. The verb on mine is so noisy it's practically useless anyway; if you need EQ to tweak one channel you can always go outboard. The EV in...

Help with Lead Master volume problem

On my Mark IIB I'm finding that the lead master functions up to around 1, no effect at higher numbers. Master 1 works normally and brings the overall volume up as you'd expect. Do I have a preamp tube issue? Do I have a human error issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark IIB Mods Also Done to IIA?

Do you find that R1 of the III has a "V" built in to the tone stack. I just got mine recently and haven't been able to dial in that full midrange sound (which I also got from a IV). I get high and low, and turning up the mid doesn't do the trick either. Although the II and III have the same...

Mark IIB Mods Also Done to IIA?

Cool. Mod looks very possible. Thanks for the photo. Settings for lead with a 335 are either: Vol 1 6 Treb 6 pulled Bass 1 Mid 5-8 Mstr1 @1 Ld Drv 6 Ld Mstr 1 Used to get a thick and dark lead (think early John Scofield). The thing I love about this amp is that you can have a dark sound but...

Mark IIB Mods Also Done to IIA?

Turns out out I have a IIA not a IIB. Anyone know if the effect level mod can be done to the A also. Something like using the preamp out and slave jacks (which I'll never use), and losing the reverb pot for the level? Also, can they fix the famous popping channel switching (which nearly killed...

    Mark II/III/IV Differences

New Boogie addict first post. I recently bought a Mark IIB combo and love it, but not the weight (4th floor walk-up). Looked into buying a Mark IV head to separate the weight from the cab. Loved the sound, but a little beat up to buy. Found a Mark III red stripe 60 watter for half the price...
