    Too many "haters"

true that. i believe one should only post if they have the experience in that gear in contention. doesn't matter if you own, owned or simply played with it. as long as you "experienced" it.

    wtb: mesa shorthead

hey guys, i am hoping to score a short head that i can bring along on my travels. cosmetic condition is secondary as long as the amp is working perfectly. of course, a low pricing is more than welcomed. so hook me up if you have a short head available for sale. combos need not apply. :wink...

    Bridge pick up suggestions...

i would never thought of the 500xl as dark and muddy. it is one of the clearest pickup i've tried. you can try a one meg pot as rocky suggested, lower the bass side of the pickup and maybe stainless steel strings. if all else fail, you can consider a dimarzio super 2. high output neck pickup...

Any of you guys notice this???

    Boss NS-2 & MXR Phase 90

+1. for the extra dough, i would go with the custom shop script 90. less harsh and no nasty mids clip.

    Boss fans?

i started with boss and still using them. let's face it. there wasn't much of an option 20 years ago. these are what is currently on my board. boss dc-2 dimension c/dc-3 digital space d - lush spatial chorus effect. less modulation than a normal chorus. i use the dc-2 with lower gain...

Mahogany Guitar - Bridge Pickup suggestions

you probably get your gain from dual rectifier and jcm800. that said, i will usually pair a low/vintage output pickups on a 24.75 scale mahogany guitar into high gain amps for a more open, less compressed tone. high gain pickups are invented to drive vintage amps into overdrive. i know most...

    Too many "haters"

+1. i posted a thread for a grab-and-go head and asked about a dc-5. someone politely pointed out that there's no love for mesas on the board. i am still wondering what's wrong with it (the board not the amp).
