    my little bro needs advice!

Buy something on Craigslist. I just missed a Mark II for 400 bucks. There's always a fender twin reverb for around 400-500 bucks on craigslist.

    Just missed a great deal

For the sake of my sanity I shouldn't ask this but, what would you ask for it?

    Just missed a great deal

In the Seattle Craigslist there was a Mark II B rebuilt by mesa boogie in 1997 with paperwork for 400 bucks. I don't need another boogie but for 400 bucks I could've made an exception. Day late dollar short is the story of my life. :( ****

Can you recommend an acoustic Martin???

I have a D1R from around 96/97 and it does the job fine. You probably find one for around 600-700 US. What about Breedlove's? Are they that nice? Personally I don't like the headstock much.

    Gibson Les Paul Suggestion

I just got a 2005 heritage re-issue goldtop darkback brand new unplayed for $2250 shipped. I'm not saying don't get they silver burst, but you can probably get that one for cheaper. Also nothing beats getting something from a place you trust and will treat you right. Give Willcutts a call and...

How loud do you turn up at an average gig w/out a Hotplate?

Or heaven forbid wise-up like most of haven't and get something with about 15-30 watts and come to the realization you're not going to play Wembley anytime soon. I love the 100/50 watts my MkIII has but, getting it to sound right it has to be pretty loud. Maybe a LSS would be a good fit for...

    Metal Grill 2x12 at GC

I almost bought a 2X12 there last month that was used. For whatever reason they can't come down in price on used stuff unless it's been sitting there awhile. I'd talked to Jesse Druggee or Brian at Totme Lake. they are the only reason why I even step foot in GC.

    OCD with a Mk III?

might want to think about the fulltone fulldrive 2 mosfet. I use one with my MKIII and it kicks butt. Great pedal; wouldn't give it up for any other OD pedal.

    PRS with thin necks?

i got my CU 24 last summer with a W/T neck. Loved it right off the bat. Nice change of pace compared to my strat. Both are comfy but way different. That $2700 PRS could probably be talked down to about $2100-$2200 if you wanted unless it was an artist package. If it was an AP you should buy it.

    Which Pedals?

Fulldrive 2 mosfet. I just got it the other day in the mail and it is great. With OD and a boost pedal kind of makes it a 2 in 1. also the mosfet switch is cool.

    $1000 Budget

I know what you mean with Gibson. I don't know if it's because GC lets anybody pick-up and play, or something but every LP I picked-up had a F'ed up neck. Chips, dents, cracked laquer, crappy action you name it. On the other hand I went to place in town that only sold Custom shop Gibson, and...

    strap locks for PRS

I just got some schaller strap locks for my PRS and saw right away that they don't fit. So I just used them for my strat. I know I can swap out the gold posts on my PRS with new schaller ones (for $3), but I would rather not. Is there a good brand that fits the PRS posts? they're huge.

    Mk III Questions

it's the same one I have. I love it. It can hold it's own with almost anything IMO. It's my "Brit-Kicker" Funny as long as Mesa's been around, my Mk III still surprises some people.

Retubed my '86 Mark III Purple stripe -- tube differences

Your Mk III sounds like my story. I bought mine from a guy who got it directly from mesa in 86. He thought he broke it after 6 months, put it back in the flight case for 10+ years and sold it to me in 1998. All it was was a blown tube. Practically brand new. I'm in need of new tubes now as...
