    Mark Tremonti tone

Has anyone dialed up something like his rhythm tone on Alter Bridge's first album? It's so huge! If I wasn't about to buy a backup amp I'd be buying his signature guitar!

    Roadking or Roadster

So the Roadster cleans are better than the RK series I cleans but the RK series II cleans are better or equal to the Roadster cleans?

    Roadking or Roadster

EL34s make the Recto tone more accessible in my opinion. 6l6s may be the tubes for classic recto, but el34s add crunch and upper mids and tighter bass that sound more like just a guitar into a loud amp than having all sorts of voicing and coloration. I know that the recto still colors the tone...

3ch Rectifier. Loop engaged and master crancked

I'm not sure about more present mids, but it really helps open the amp up. I have my effect level at 12 oclock, my Modern master around 2, and my gain pretty low at 9ish, and I use the output knob to adjust for practices or whatever. Its much more audible than keeping the master down and the...

    Roadking or Roadster

I got my Roadster thinking that I would never use Progressive Linkage. But really, thats a badass feature. I wish I had a RK now! 6l6s and El34s sound different, yeah, but they also FEEL different... and being able to choose between the two as well as combine them creates a level of versatility...

Roadster smells like fire!- please help

Found a Mesa tech, took it to him (120 miles of driving : boo!), and he was nice enough to take a look at it that day! He said its probably a resistor and the socket. It will still be some time before my tubes arrive. Thanks everyone for helping me out!

Do you like the stock Mesa EL34s?

    +1 in my roadster too.

Roadster smells like fire!- please help

Well ****. I guess I really do need to take it to a tech. Can I take it to any tech or does that void the warranty; are authorized Mesa dealers also Mesa techs or will I need to ship my amp out to Cali?

Roadster smells like fire!- please help

It would be sweet if I could just replace the power tube. There aren't any real techs in my area and shipping the amp to Mesa may take too long- I have shows coming up! I am worried about other damaged components like the tube socket itself or the transformers...

Roadster smells like fire!- please help

I've read through the manual and I think I know what the problem is, but I'd like to see what you guys think about it. I was using my Roadster at practice last night in a college house that is not electrically grounded (but no rain or anything). After a minute or so of being on it popped and...

Output Volume or Master channel volume

Try both and see what you like, but I prefer cranking the master to my desired saturation level and using the output knob to tame it. I suppose they're two different strategies though. One problem with cranking the master is that you can have volume level differences in live use. By cranking the...

i need a good boost pedal

Are you sure? I run my SD boost pedal in front of the amp and on my channel 4 modern and it adds both gain and volume. Maybe it doesn't add volume for really high gain tones but for my purposes it adds gain, thickness, and volume.

    loop settings

Is it possible to add/subtract gain using the loop level knob on the back of the Roadster?

    Roadster questions

i use Seymour duncan's SFX-01 pickup booster. i would check out MXR's 10 band eq though, because you can boost as well as finish off your tone with equalization. its built well and not too expensive.

Proud new Roadster owner! some questions though... halp!1

i really like Mesa's NOS Semiens EL-34s. They added a lot of crunch, made the highs more pleasant, tightened the amp up (i have a roadster too), and just generally made the amp more authentic sounding and more responsive. the manual says el-34s make the amp thinner and brighter, but thats just...

    Roadster headroom- new tubes?

Can I swap preamp tubes in my Roadster to get more clean headroom without sacrificing my dirty tones? I have stock preamp tubes and my power tubes are the Mesa/Semiens NOS EL-34s. Thanks!

    Mesa Tone Noob Question

Can someone explain the mystery behind the Treble knob on Mesas? My particular amp is a roadster. How exactly does the treble knob determine how much the other EQ knobs factor into the end tone?

    More clean headroom in Roadster

I changed from spongy to bold, which increased clean volume and let me turn my dirty volume down some without losing muscle. My bias switch was still on 6l6 even though I put el34s in about a week ago (i've only played the amp a couple of times so hopefully its not hurt in any way), so I hit...

    More clean headroom in Roadster

What if I put my pickup booster in my FX loop, could I kick it on for when I need that extra gain? Or would that just add too much volume compared to my clean channel?

    More clean headroom in Roadster

This would be a really easy fix, but by turning my dirty tone's Master down to match level-wise with my clean tone, I lose a lot of my saturation and my gain:master ratio... I was just wondering if there was a way to keep my desired Master and Gain levels on channel 3 but just get more volume...
