    I want my Mark V!

I know what you guys mean....I WANT MY M K V. Axe-Fx seems to be very very popular at the moment (all the rage). I'm sure it's very good. I had a choice go with Axe-FX or MKV. I chose to pre-order the MKV. I currently use a MKIV in my rig. I may eventually get the Axe-FX down the road but for...

    News for Canada...

From my past experience with Long, I would say all of their prices are very "fair". I bought a Martin acoustic in Florida when our dollar was almost 1 to 1, thinking I got a smokin' deal. I came back and checked for the same guitar at Long and it was only $25 more, after taxes and all that in...

Has anyone ordered a Mark V yet?

Yes, that's exactly what I just heard recently from a local retailer.

    I have a pre-order on the head and it's $2,625 + tax. That's at L&M.

Has anyone ordered a Mark V yet?

I had a $50 gift card for my local shop from Xmas and this is all it took to reserve my MK V. They wanted $100, but I said this is all I have, that was fine. It will give me the first chance to try/buy it in the store. I have no obligation to buy, they said, "it's not like we'll have a hard time...

    Avatar Speaker Cabinets

Sorry don't have any experience with Avatar, but you may also want to look into Lopoline. They will custom build anything you want. I have an oversized 1X12 closed and it sounds amazing. http://www.lopoline.com/

Hold on a second (Mark V thread)........

If you end up going there, please check to see if the Recording Out is still there on the back, as on the Mark IV. Thanks :)

    Attenuator help

My only experience is with a THD Hotplate, and I would highly recommend it. I found it didn't color or alter my tone any (well maybe slightly). It works like a charm in getting the desired tone out of the amp at lower volume. http://www.thdelectronics.com/products/hotplate.htm You'll probably...

need advice from MARKVI or DR owners

When I saw Arch Enemy a few months ago, they were using Randall amps, both Michael and Chris. For melodic death metal I would go with a rectifier. There are many artist/musicians who use a rectifier for fast/melodic type stuff (i.e. Pertucci, Between the Buried, KSE). Many pros use multiple...

Took back the Express 5:50 and got the F-50

I tried the 5:50 head and 2X12 speaker yesterday at a local shop...to be honest I didn't really like the high gain 'Burn' setting. I loved the clean channel, the blues mode was OK. I just found that it didn't have the balls in the 'Burn' mode, for my ears anyways. I tried the contour knob at...

    Express 5:50 Clips?

Thanks NuSkoolTone, I was really looking forward to checking out the 5:50 clip, but the link does not seem to work for me. Not sure if it's just me or if anyone else is having same problem?

I test drove the new Express 5/25 !!!!!!

I'm also going for the 5:50 head and 2X12 cabinet. I haven't decided on the cab yet though. From past experience a head / cabinet is more versitile than a combo as you can use different head/cab configurations.

I test drove the new Express 5/25 !!!!!!

A 25 watt or less amp will be drowned in band rehersals, you will need to mic it or get somethig bigger. Remember you'll also have bass and possibly a second guitar and vocal.

I test drove the new Express 5/25 !!!!!!

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the great reviews. I can't wait to try/buy this amp, however it will be at least 4 weeks before the dealer in my town will have any in stock. Can someone please please post some clips of the 5:50 or the 5:25? Thanks, Yarzo
