    Mesa / Boogie Vertical 2 x 12" - Late 80's

Yes I currently have one of those, the best cabinet I have ever played thru. Price varies WIDELY on these. I picked mine up for $300 with a C90 in the top and an EVM-12L in the bottom. I also have one of these which is the same cabinet but is a road-ready version and has a removeable front as...

I was scared to click on this thread...I had bad images in my head...pictured seeing something like I saved a TON of money on my car insurance! But yeah that is great news. Good luck, and make sure you get a few autographs!

    Mesa Tough.....

Glad to hear you're enjoying your Boogie :) I picked up a G&L semi-hollow T-stlye a couple of months ago. I originally bought it as a backup guitar...but I play it a LOT now. In fact, I rarely ever take my PRS out of it's case these days. The G&L has an incredible neck, and the pickups are...

    New Mark IV problem

Something is bringing the "C" power source down by about 10v and then it fluctuates up to normal level. When this fluctuation in "C" happens ..the amp makes it's noise. I'm sure it would be easy for a knowledgable tech to trace down the problem pretty quickly, but I am no tech. I think at this...

    New Mark IV problem

    pin 1 is fluctuating between 244 - 250v and pin 6 fluctuates from 279 - 285 or so.

    New Mark IV problem

The noise is present equally in all 3 channels. As for the tubes I tried 2 additional new tubes in each preamp socket this morning, this had no effect on the noise. I checked V5 and it appears to have good contact with the tube pins. When I wiggle V5 around it has no effect on the rumbling...

    New Mark IV problem

I PM'ed Restlses Rocks and he suggested that I first "use your DMM to look for the presence of power in the EQ section to eliminate this as a source of the problem". Where on the board would I check for this? The EQ functions just fine so I assume it is getting at least some voltage. But I...

    New Mark IV problem

This is supposed to be a new amp :? To summarize for those who sent me PM's..I was initially getting a thin, raspy, distorted VERY low volume sound from the amp. After turning the amp off then back on the volume returned to normal, and the amp is now making a low pitched and low in volume...

    New Mark IV problem

It does it on all channels, and the Eq does not have an effect on the "noise" I just noticed that when it does come on there is an almost constant rumbling-like noise coming from the speaker. This rumbling is pretty low in volume but I can visibly see the speaker move out when the rubmle...

    New Mark IV problem

Unfortunately a warranty repair is not possible as he hasn't sent me his reciept. I may have to drop it off at the service center, but they charge a pretty steep fee for non-warranty work, including estimates. I took the chassis out and looked at it. I can't see anything that looks "obviously...

    New Mark IV problem

I plugged in the amp, let the tubes warm up for a few minutes with the amp on standby, then proceeded to take the amp off standby and play thru it...but it sounded very strange. The amp had very low volume .. no matter how high I turned up the volume it didn't seem to change much , and it...

    Boogie Mail Order

I don't think any order I ever placed with Mesa has ever gotten there within 10 days. Someone at Mesa needs to examine their order fullfillment process and figure out how to process & ship orders in a more timely manner.

Bias Rite readings on Mark IV

Would that set of tubes bias correctly in any amp tho? I think any "standard" should include an acceptable range of use and function. Either that or slap a green sticker on the box that says "Eco-Friendly night lamps. One will be as dim as the other." I am glad rabies brought this issue to...
