    PRS Tremonti SE Custom

I just wanted to share a pic of my new Tremonti SE Custom. Though it's a great guitar right out of the box, I've done a lot of mods that have made it even better. The neck carve is probably what I like best about the guitar ... wide/thin. It's a shredder neck for sure! The mods I've done are as...

    Rectifier and Roadster questions...

I have the Dual Rectifier. While "all dials on 10" would sound like garbage on the DR, I think it's probably the sweet spot on a Marshall. Two completely different amplifiers. While the DR is much more versatile, it took me quite a long time to find the settings I really like. I have EL34's in...

    FX loop rotary control basics

My DR has a parallel effects loop. It sounds best (IMO) with the mix knobs turned all the way up. Does this setting still allowing a dry signal to pass?

    Post your pedalboard

Wow, there are some NICE pedals here! My pedalboard is pretty boring in comparison.

    TS9 settings

*DELETE* I bought a TS9 today and figured out the best settings. Gain -off Tone - 12:00 Level - maxed Sounds KILLER! I don't know why Mesa doesn't just incorporate the TS circuit in their amps. THIS is what a Mesa should sound like! :D

    Questions about delay pedals

I'm getting rid of my effects processor and going with all pedal effects and I'm currently in the market for a delay pedal. Ideally, I'd like to find one with two foot switches that would enable me to program two presets. If not, then what is good and reasonably priced? Or is it even possible to...

    Throttle Box or Tube Screamer?

I'm running my DR on "Bold / Silicon Diode". It sounds best (to my ears) with these settings but I'm still unable to smooth out the gain. I checked the tubes and found that it came with EL34's. This makes sense as it sounds a lot like a Marshall. Lots of punch and nice crunch. However, this...

    Throttle Box or Tube Screamer?

I'm looking to smooth out the gain and add some sustain to my Dual Rectifier. Looking for more of a "metal" sound. Would either a Throttle Box or Tube Screamer work? If so, which would be best?

    EL34's vs. 6L6's

Listened to some EL34 vs. 6L6 clips on YouTube and wasn't really impressed. :? Decided to experiment yet again with different settings and found that setting the "silicon diode / vacuum tube" setting to SILICON DIODE and the "bold / spongy" setting to BOLD helped tremendously. I've had my dual...

    EL34's vs. 6L6's

Has anybody swapped out the EL34's for 6L6's? Can it even be done? My Dual Rectifier sounds great but I'd like to smooth out the gain and add a bit more sustain. I've been reading about overdrive pedals, etc. but I really hate to go that route. Then it dawned on me that swapping out the EL34's...

    Clean boost pedals

May not be the TS9 at all. Could be the output on the G-Major. I had the same issue.

Multiwatt Dual Rectifier/RoadKing II Modern Mode Comparisons

There's no imperfection in your amp, Daniel. I thought the same thing with mine. Apparently, channel 2 and 3 have different presence controls. The presence control for channel 3 is #590151 The presence control for channel 2 is # 590737 I prefer the presence of channel 3 and often thought about...

    New to the forum

Welcome to the forum! :D The Dual Rectifier has some awesome clean tones too. That's actually one of the reasons I bought it. My other amp is an older 5150. It's an awesome amp but impossible to get any clean tones out of that thing.

    Got my clean tone back!

It has it's advantages ... On stage - it offers a little more freedom and eliminates any worries of someone tripping over your cord during a show. At home - it helps keep your practice area nice and tidy and free of cords. I've since adjusted the gain on the transmitter and the wireless now...

    Got my clean tone back!

Agreed ... It also has some awesome gain though. The DR is my number one but I just can't bring myself to get rid of the 5150. I'll call it "number two" in honor of it's clean tone.

    Got my clean tone back!

Absolutely! Everything sounds better. I had even considered doing a mod to my FX loop to convert it from parallel to series, thinking that maybe that had something to do with it but even the efects sound better since discovering the issue with my wireless. I still may do the mod, but I don't...
