    Post your rig part 2

I actually just got the Fender and have been using the Lonestar alone. Thought about using them together but I put my amp under the stage and mic it so I'd need to run another mic to the Fender.

    Wich Duncans?

I know you're leaning toward Duncans but since you seem open, you may want to consider T.V. Jones Power'Trons. A great different sounding pickup with plenty of umph! They are roughly a P90 size but you can get them with standard humbucker sized rings.

    Fender Appreciation

I really enjoy my strat. It's an American Deluxe V-Neck with Kinman Blues pickups. I moved the tone control from the middle pickup to the bridge. Made the middle pickup more open and gave me more control over the bridge. Just got done repainting it from Honey Blonde to an Orange Kandy over...

One More Time-Show us your Pedal board

Pretty cool pedalboards huh?! I didn't care for the angle of my volume pedal and how high it sat in relation to my other pedals so I modified mine. Built the back tier to give easy access to those pedals as well as give me room for my power supplies (PP2 Plus and Delay) underneath. Raised the...

One More Time-Show us your Pedal board

Into Barber LTD>Phase 90> Ernie Ball Volume>Lonestar / ISP Decimator>Eventide Timefactor in effects loop / Peterson Tuner from Tuner Out on volume pedal. Still a work in progress. Am leaning more toward a Chorus pedal than the Phase 90 and would like to add a Fulltone Clyde wah. Considering...

    Noise gate for Stilleto

You are correct that in order to eliminate the noise you're dealing with is to place the Decimator, or other noise gate, in your effects loop. Placing it anywhere in the effects chain into the front of the amp simply can't affect anything after that point.

    cable length

In order to use my delay in the effects loop of my Lonestar, I have to use a total of 60 feet of cable, 30 each way! Needless to say, using regular instrument cable was not an option. I have made my own cables using Canare Quad Core mic cable and attach all 4 wires to the tip of my 1/4" TS...

    Rattle noise in back??

If you can reproduce the type of sound by tapping on one of your power tubes or if the sound diminishes by placing your hand on the bottom of a tube, dampers should work for you. I had a similar issue with a Rectoverb and dampers took care of it for me.

What lead you to your tone.

    1. Started on acoustic at 10yrs old. Parents didn't like rock music so electric guitars were out of the question 2. Married and got my first electric at 22, an Ibanez RG-340 and a Mako Pirahna 8" practice amp. Discovered fx pedals a few months later and bought a DOD Super Overdrive...

    Noise gate for Stilleto

I use an ISP Decimator in the effects loop of my Lonestar Classic and it does the trick. I have mine on all the time and is set at about 10-11:00 and haven't noticed any issues on my clean channel.

Dealing with hum issues in certain places

There are a couple of products from Ebtech that may help, the HumX and the Hum Eliminator. The HumX plugs into the wall socket you are using for your amp and it's supposed to reduce any hum caused by ground loops or other wiring issues. The Hum Eliminator is supposed to quiet your gear by...

    ISP decimator

I use one in the effects loop of my Lonestar Classic. It does what it's supposed to.

TC G Major or Eventide TimeFactor

+1 on the Timefactor. You have the capability of adding modulation to most of the delay modes and it is a nice subtle effect that sounds really good IMO. As far as reverb, since you can run two different delay times simultaneously, I have been able to get a nice reverb effect by setting...

    Multi-FX pedals...

I failed to mention the Nova System from TC Electronic. They took some of the same effects from the G-System and made it more affordable.

    Multi-FX pedals...

Since you're not looking for amp modeling, I have heard good things about the new Line6 M13 Stompbox modeler. The Boss ME-50 may be an option as well. I've had a Line 6 Flextone II (POD 2.0), POD XT and XTLive, Johnson J-Station and VOX Tonelab LE. As far as the fx go, I like the way Line6...

Strat Players - What's your favorite Boogie?

I play a variety of styles but lean toward a heavy-driven blues tone ala Lincoln Brewster or a grinding Stevie Ray-type tone. I don't play any guitars with humbuckers, just my Strat and Tele both loaded with Kinmans (I guess they are technically humbuckers in their design but... :P ). I play...

lonestar or not to lonestar; that is the question

If the Lonestar does get you where you need to be as far as gain, there are some great pedals out there that may help. The Lonestar, in my experience, handles distortion and overdrive pedals very well on channel 1 but channel 2 can be a little finicky. Doing the Reeder Mod is always an option...

    Coping with the weight

Grin and bear it :) . I get to set mine up twice each week, once for rehearsal and once for performance. Been doing it for 6 months now and it's worth it to me for the tone. I would suggest a road case or flight case, the side handles have made it much easier to load and unload out of my truck.
