Well, I guess the MKV is indeed a reality...

I know... wtf? Other than the different power settings and record out level, it really isn't much different than any other amp. It took me a whole 20 minutes to find a good tone to start out with.

    Mark IV help!

Didn't you already answer your question? Keep the bass down on the main dial to keep it tight but add some on the graphic EQ for more oomph.

Well, I guess the MKV is indeed a reality...

Not that it is a surprise to anyone here in this forum... Two people who attended a John Petrucci Clinic heard it straight from the man's mouth... http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-guitars/32301-back-chicago-petrucci-clinic.html

    Mark IV at Low Volumes?

Do you find that you actually need the Tubescreamer with all of the gain that the MKIV has on tap?

    Mark IV at Low Volumes?

Well, word has it that they are ceasing production of the MKIV line, although It hasn't been 100% confirmed. Your best bet is to either find another dealer who has one in stock, someone here on this forum who you are in driving distance to and would be willing to let you try theirs out, or do...

    Mark IV at Low Volumes?

In my opinion, the MKIV sounds great at low volumes. Don't believe half the **** you hear on this forum for it's coming from only a fraction of people who actually own this amp. Any amp is going to sound better at higher volumes, but that's where the speaker is moving more air in addition to...

Does this Mark IV sound ok or not right?

Sounds fine to me... Rhythm one sounds nice, punchy and clean, rhythm two sounds like **** as usual.

MKIV Reverb Sounds Like An Auto-Wah

So I recently picked up a six month old MKIV medium head and have been spending the last few weeks dialing in some bad-*** tones. I'm typically not one for reverb but since this is the fist amp I've had in years with reverb, I though I would give it a try... Well, for some reason, when I turn...

Just found out Mesa is discontinuing the Mark IV's…

Man, I'm glad I at least got one of the last ones before they dropped them. I couldn't live with myself if I would have had to wait for a MKV and it ended up not being as ugly as the MKIV.

    Why so expensive?

Well said, and coming from someone who ownes both, I trust your word. 8)

    Why so expensive?

Sorry if this sounds newbish... but what can a MKIIC+ do that a MKIV can't?

    Boosting a Mark IV

Ok, I'm confused now... the MKIV has so much gain already, why even run an OD pedal? What's the advantage? More choices with each channel?
  15. R

Good OD pedal to go with Mark IV?

I guess you could call me a noob, but with an amp with so much gain out of the box already, why even run an OD pedal with the MKIV?

How's This For A Mark IV Cab?

Have any of you guys played around with any of the Thiele cabinets?

    Mark IV question

Hmm, I always wondered what the difference was between the two... so I take it only the short head can be converted over to a rack-mount?
