    LSC for home use

Actually Mesa's website and the Mesa online store still list the 23" head as available but temporarily out of stock. Might take awhile to get one if they don't build too many of them.

    Lonestar bias mod

I am assuming that this mod would void the warranty, correct?

    LSC for home use

I can comment on item #1. I think the 10 watt mode is perfect for home studio use. Especially on tweed power. All the tone at reasonable volumes.

    Sold

Ok, keep me in mind. I'm local so we can deal in person. Also, just curious as to why you're selling. Oh, and I saw on another post awhile back where you took some pictures at Mesa's assembly line. Cool....

Would you consider any trades or trade+cash?

    Lonestar bias mod

Don't mean to get off topic but I have to ask dudleydawson, did you keep your ED?

    Just curious...

Has anyone tried the 23" combo or head/23" cab. I see that they are more open backed and was wondering how they compare to say the 27" 1x12 combo as far as sound dispersement, punch etc.

Looking for input - LS over an Electra Dyne?

When I was shopping for Mesa amps, it came down to the Lonestar and the Electradyne. I liked both amps and wound up buying the Electradyne. I got it home and started playing and the tones that I heard when I demoed it (Played both amps quite a bit on different occasions) were there. Nice cleans...

    Lone Star Drive flabby

I have a newer 100 watt head with a 1X12 C90 cabinet. One of my guitars is a Texas Special Fat Strat with a Seymore Duncan Pearly gates in the bridge and Fender Texas Specials in the middle and neck. Now, this is a fairly bright guitar, but with this amp, I'm getting great, punchy tones out of...

Good delay unit for use in effects loop?

MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay. Simple to use, quiet, sounds great, up to 600ms, $150.00 USD.

    Leaving the herd.....

Good luck. I had an Electradyne for about a week and couldn't bond with it. It's a nice amp and the crunch tone with that punchy bass response is killer, but for me, the Lone Star is much more versatile, touch dynamic, and has a singing, vocal quality the Electradyne just couldn't provide. Also...

    compressor love

Hey guys, I'm looking at compressors and I think I have it down to the Tone Press or maybe the Retro-Sonic compressor. Have any of you compared these two? Also, I've read some reviews about the Barber and some folks say it's noisy. Is this the case and if so is it just at high settings? I've...

    Classic

Great choice! I got my LSC head and LS 1x12 cab three months ago and it's beautiful. You can get great lower volume tones with the 10 watt setting in either tweed or full power. With the 1x12 cab you'll get huge, room filling cleans and sweet, punchy gain tones. A very versatile amp. You're...

LSC Hissing and crackling...swapped out every tube!

Cool, glad to hear the solution was pretty straight forward and nothing too serious. As a side note, the last time I spoke with Mesa they mentioned to me also that they were switching to the JJ tubes. They said they can be used in any of the pre-amp positions. V3 is a cathode follower position...

LSC Hissing and crackling...swapped out every tube!

Wow, man , I don't know. Since you say you don't hear it in the tweed mode, it would seem like a tube problem since the line voltage is dropped to about 93 volts in tweed, so you're not driving the tubes as hard. You also mentioned that the noise increases as you turn up the effects loop send...

LSC Hissing and crackling...swapped out every tube!

When you say you changed out all the tubes, this included the power tubes and rectifier tube, not just the pre-amp tubes?

LSC Hissing and crackling...swapped out every tube!

Do you have the problem on both channels? Does it occur in all wattage settings or just one? Does it occur with the reverb turned all the way down? Just trying to narrow it down.

    which compressor?

Has anybody tried the Retro-Sonic compressor or compared it to the Barber?

    question about the drive channel

I bought the amp based on the way it sounds stock. I can get a wide variety of great tones from channel 2, and it's not difficult to find them. There is a long list of professional musicians who use these amps as they come from the factory and when I see Lone Stars at Guitar center, they only...
