    Does LSS Cut it Live

I use a Parker Fly Mojo which has JB in bridge, Jazz in neck. Obviously, a different guitar in terms of wood, etc. As I said, I haven't used the amp at a loud gig yet; but have used it in loud situations and loved it.

Question: Best guitar cable for your Mesa setup?

Great advice from everybody. Looks like maybe I can avoid the $135 for the Evidence Audio and stick with Planet Waves, Monster, or George L and be fine.

Question: Best guitar cable for your Mesa setup?

Drilling in on a question I asked on another post. -What is your favorite guitar cable to use with your Mesa? --George L's seem to be popular; I'm concerned because I've read that there is distinct midrange when using them. I'm looking for something as flat as possible --Monster cable is...

    Robben Ford tone

I spent a bunch of time today working with my LSC. Goal was to dial in a sound similar to Robben Ford's lead sound on e.g. The Brother. I assume he used a Dumble for this (GREAT sound). I wasn't able to get an exact match (obviously a lot is in fingers and guitar). Has anyone experimented with...

    Does LSS Cut it Live

I have an LSS and an LSC; I've used them both at gigs but not the LSS at a loud one. I have used the LSS in loud situations and actually LOVED it. I found that I could get a reasonably clean sound; also that if I wanted to go with Gain at around 2:30 I got a GREAT growling but still reasonably...

    Question: A/B pedals, quality chords

First, thanks as usual in advance for the great help I've always gotten on this forum. Now, my questions: -Context I have an LSC and an LSS; I want to A/B/Y them; I bought an A/B/Y pedal (Art technology or something). Either it is really noisy or I need better cables. -Questions --Has anybody...

Ok, so LSS rocks as well

These are great tips (using Solo, retubing, etc.), thanks much.

    LSC + LSS = OMG

Today I used the LSS at a jam with some folks; sounded GREAT; I think I was on 15w ch 1 and 5w ch 2. The jam isn't overly loud but not quite either; amp totally cut through and ch 1 was lovely clean; that said I've cranked the LSS and understand that it's going to have more of a furry spank than...

Question: Does LSS come with casters?

Thanks for the info; GC has actually been really good to deal with; I'll go back to get the casters; I did get the slip cover.

Question: Does LSS come with casters?

GC said they didn't think so and since I have an LSC the casters will work; however, I'd like to get the casters if I'm supposed to.

    LSC + LSS = OMG

I just spent all night A/Bing my Lonestar Classic and Lonestar Special. Interestingly, I found myself going back again and again to the LSS. That said, when I would switch to the LSC for extended periods of time I would love that as well. Some interesting (perhaps) thoughts: -The measure of an...

Ok, so LSS rocks as well

These are good points; I played around a lot more with the LSS tonight and it really was great; with both of these I'm just simply done. The LSS is incredibly responsive and snappy, the LSC is huge and strong.

Ok, so LSS rocks as well

I went into GC with my Fly Mojo and tried an LSS 1x12 in the backroom. REALLY a great amp. Very different then the LSC: I found it more resopnsive to pick and volume knob dynamics; a pleasure to play. So I took it home...and my goal is to keep both LSS and LSC. Only question for this group: I...

Mkiic+ problem: STILL can't get a clean tone

I did turn the amp on and play for a while with a bad tube. That could be part of it. Looks like time for a trip to a good local tech Thanks as always for the invaluable help.

My verdict: LSC vs. LSS vs. 5:25

Tonight I tried out a 5:25 Express and a Lonestar Special. Two caveats: I didn't side-by-side them with my LSC and I didn't use my guitar (a Parker Fly Mojo). I did use a nice guitar (Eric Johnson strat). My verdict: -5:25 This amp was simply too small for my purposes; I wasn't able to get...

LSC owner asks: Supplement w/5:25, 5:50, or LSS

I recently bought a Lonestar Classic 2x12. Love it; but it is loud and also 6L6 (good for some things but ELx also nice). If you were going to supplement this with a smaller amp what would you choose? -5:25 Express -5:50 Express -Lonestar Special (still probably pretty big and loud) Thanks as...

Mkiic+ problem: STILL can't get a clean tone

Thanks for the reply, BB. Would a good amp tech be able to fix this? Or diagnose it? Or will it need to go back to Mesa?

Mkiic+ problem: STILL can't get a clean tone

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that Boogies don't need bias adjustment? [1] Is that incorrect? [1] From the Mkiic manual: Negative bias voltage has been permanently set during amplifier burn-in and should never need adjustment. Correct bias voltages varies according to...

    Lonestar Special vs. Stilleto ACE

Just to clarify: I meant '...if you already had a Lonestar Classic?' Also, thoughts on the 5:25?

    Lonestar Special vs. Stilleto ACE

I recently bought a Lonestar Classic; I love it but it is loud; I'm thinking of adding to my collection something smaller and also and EL-xx model. What are your thoughts on the Lonestar Special vs. the Stilleto ACE as another amp if you already had a Lonestar Special? Is there enough...
