    EL34s in my LSC 10/50/100 (woot!)

    plan-x :: Channel 2 is definitely "sweeter". I find it a little more usable at volume as well. It's more "together" which could just be new tube sound :) pine :: The Yellow Jacket is an intriguing idea. I have been mulling that over for a while.

    EL34s in my LSC 10/50/100 (woot!)

    So through a bizarre bit of dealer Tom Foolery I got promised a full set of tubes for my LSC I bought last year. When I was there I honestly couldn't remember what was in the amp, 6L6s or EL34s. As you all know it's 6L6s - but I said EL34s. I felt like the kid from Christmas Story. "No wait...

    Pedal Order/Loop?

    I have an LSC 10/50/100. The plan for pedals (I have a Cry Baby at the moment) is: Volume (Morely or Ernie Ball) Wah (Cry Baby) Compressor (Carl Martin or Barber) Flanger (MXR or TC Electronic) Delay (MXR Carbon Copy) I think the correct signal path is as I have listed it above (possibly...

    Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

    The site is prettier but it is acting super extra wonky. I can barely ever sign in and double posts abound.

    Let's see your "Pig rig" pics (Lonestars)

    Tell me more about the Barber Tone Press compressor. That is on my short list of must haves.

    Bonding Amp Moment With Wife....LSS

    My wife refers to my Lonestar as "That loud thing that was really expensive." So you can imagine how the "gear" conversations go.

    New owner

    Best advice I received here: EQ with your ears, not your eyes! (O'clock) You know the Gain 5, Bass 5, Mid 9, Treble 12 - you used for your Marshall? Forget it!

    Oh my! i want one of those . . . :)

    Finally a Porsche my wife will understand. OW! Why can't the **** kids get scholarships. OW!

    LSC :: Too "open" (?)

    THAT'S IT!!!! It's like a clean note would suddenly appear. This only happens when it's set fairly loud. Yes yes yes. This is what I am describing. Will looking to all you have suggested as well as the 4 ohm option. Thanks

    LSC :: Too "open" (?)

    I had about 6 hours to myself on Sunday so I dug out my old wireless rig and set my Lone Star to "kill". Of course Channel 1 was astounding. Channel 2 was excellent but at points it was too "open" - "poppy" - it's hard to explain... uncontrolled? The Samson runs a little bit of compression...

    I miss my Mesa's :(

    Then you need 2 Lonestars and Stiletto :lol:

    Lone Star / Hot Plate advice...?

    So the real question is do you NEED a THD or similar if you have an LSC?

    Lone Star Special - Fan on, Fan off? When?

    Like most of my volume settings I just set it to ON :)

    Express 5:50 vrs Bogner Alchemist

    The "trick" with any Mesa EVER is to adjust the EQ controls with your EARS not your EYES. So when you plug into a Marshall and you set bass to 5 o'clock, treble to 9 o'clock and treble to 3 o'clock you sound like metal!! Do that with a Mesa and you sound like mud. But spend 10 minutes rolling...

    LSC Solo - What does it actually do?

    if you have the Lonestar in Hard Bypass the Solo button doesn't work so it isn't surprising you don't hear a tone difference when you engage it :)

    LSC Solo - What does it actually do?

    no, it's not that I don't understand its function... it's that I don't understand how it achieves it! If all it did was make the volume louder then it wouldn't be a mystery. However, as discussed above it does more than that.

    Express 5:50 vrs Bogner Alchemist

    I spent a few minutes listening to the two amps on YouTube and the Bogner sounds like a Line6. Line6 makes some interesting stuff and I have no problem with their stuff but if you play a Line6 it sounds like you're playing out of Line6. For the old folks here... think Rocktron. No matter what...

    LSC Solo - What does it actually do?

    I must try this loop disengagement you speak of - as I have no effects with which to loop anyway. (No one puts their CryBaby in a loop; right?)

    LSC Solo - What does it actually do?

    I am a little fuzzy on what the Solo "button" does on my LSC. I understand that I can set it to a louder volume setting and stomp on it to "Go to 11" but it changes the sound by more than volume. It almost "clears" the sound up some. Sometimes I just run the amp on Solo because it sounds a...
