I'm giving up my ED! I'm in school and need the Money! British Tan 1X12 AWESOME AMP! There is one small issue: The dog tipped the amp over. The only issue to come from this was that the guitar was plugged into the amp and when it fell the guitar cord hit the ground 1st and pushed the ED's...

Sonically I don't think there's enough diff to justify going about that operation...but what do I know? I DO know that the 1X12 is a MONSTER and needs not another speaker;) But it would be a cool mod;)

...AND... where you set that switch dramatically alters the gain structure and tone of the amp!

Remember...the CLEAN setting is actually where you the most DISTORTION and the HI/LO setting is where you get the CLEANEST sound!!! It seems BACKWARDS TO ME...but it is what it is ;)

The HD 500 might be similar... or not so much... I'd actually bet it's the latter... The M13 is like putting pedals and NOTHING ELSE in the Loop and in front of the amp (which is why I like it). The way I set it (The 4 cable method) up, I have my delays and time based effects in the loop of...

Thats why I like the M13...with the 4CM I can run it dry and retain tone...then add effects as I wish.... no coloration, no Amp models, just "stompbox's"...

As long as you keep the power supply away from your amp you should not have a Hum w/ the 4CM(My setup with the ED/M13 is dead quiet).

If ur interested in Effects only and wanna run 4CM check out the Line6 M13!

The line M's aren't plug and play...the OD's sound mediocre at best "out of the box"...but... Once you get them DIALED IN (which is easy) they sound every bit as good as my Barber burn unit...which is saying something.

Can you use the 4 cable method with the Axe FX? Thats my favorite part about the M13...putting Delays and Mods in the loop while keeping OD's out front....

Check out the Line6 m13 Stompbox Modeler....I use mine with the 'Dyne and LOVE iT! ...and...it's only $500! Basically the same thing as the AxeFX but WAYYYYY less expensive and no rack to lug...

I'm the opposite... I love my 1X12 combo and wouldn't bother with a head :wink:
