I use Klotz LaGrange (about $2 per metre) for instrument and Sommer cable ($1.20 per metre) http://www.sommercable.com/ for everything else as its a bit cheaper, high quality and bends really nice for short runs. I also use neutrik connectors ($3 a pop, UK of course)and solder them up myself...
I just got a BB preamp specifically for boosting the roadster cleaner channels 1 & 2, I don't use it at all on 3 & 4 as I'm delighted with the sound as is. I chose this mainly because it doesn't suck tone in any way and is silent when engaged.
I don't particularly like the brit setting on...
absolutely +1, easily the best amp I've played or owned so far, in fact Ive just put my vintage modern which I liked a lot on fleabay because of it.
Wish I'd took the plunge ages ago.
After a long search I finally got a Musicman Luke yesterday. Love these guitars, the necks are just fabulous, never had active PUP's before and these EMG's are superb, super clear but dirty up great. :D
reading through some back threads about footswitch popping on a roadster, I understand this is due to a static build up in the relays so does the amp pop with any footswitch or just the OEM one. I'm thinking of using a ground control unit.
btw the workaround of cycling the channels and coming...
Yeah, I'm hoping to squeeze it in along with a GC to see what the fuss is about, maybe pick up a bargain if there is any.
Thanks for that , ironically I was just noseying round that hotel on line, might be just the thing.
Any recommends on beachy type family friendly areas to stay in L.A. with decent hotels am stopping over for a week from the UK, never been before so am clueless.
just wondered what you guys do about the power cable when putting your roadster head in a road case, its the only amp I have where the cables not a removable connection at the back, although I could take/keep the panel off to disconnect it I s'pose.
I used to have a vox valvetronix halfstack, the blue one which was supposedly the pro range. Actually it was a decent amp, the EQ in the loop was a big must for this amp and made it sound huge and very valve like, this simple mod was all over that forum.
I'll definately be giving it a test at...
thanks guys,
Im keen to try it with any V30 cab as I've never tried these speakers with any amp, I am leaning more towards a recto 4 x 12 though as there not much more dosh than a 2 x 12 and seem more readily available used.
I haven't checked out the EQ in the loop threads yet, i'll have a mooch around, I have a boss GE7 and a rack EQ if needed but so far it sounds pretty **** fabulous as is.
Im using a marshall vintage modern 425A cab just now it has slightly tweaked greenbacks and sounds superb, easily my fave...
So after a long search I finally picked up a new roadster head today, super chuffed, can't wait to explore this amp and hopefully pick up some tips on here from you experienced guys.
:D
Just finished putting my new rack together so I thought I'd post a few pics.
It came about as there were a couple of items I wanted that are only available in rack form and it kind of grew from there. I got a fair bit from fleabay so it wasn't too expensive and I've really enjoyed researching...
The voltage difference and step down/up transformers is probably the main issue I would think, it just seems Mesa take a particularly heavy hand over it compared to other manufacturers who's warranties are valid as long as the local new country distributor is agreeable. That said Im going to Oz...
I just don't understand the Mesa policy of voiding warranties if you take a product out of the country. I want to buy a roadster and am already puking at having to pay double the US prices (its a couple of beers under £2000, $4000).
Now the dealer tells me that the warranty will be void when I...
thanks, I thought so myself as its the most obvious but the manual suggests either
or
option 2 is no good as the marshalls only have the 8 ohm stereo option which leaves option 1 which means using a series box. Any ideas ?
