Is it possible to find out WHEN my Dual Rectifier was BUILT?

What the hell was that?? Mesa spam?? Just what I really need.

Is it possible to find out WHEN my Dual Rectifier was BUILT?

Thank you . . . I have always wanted this information. As far as the "big blue caps", I have to be honest and admit that I have no idea what you are talking about. I don't wanna damage the amp OR get fried . . . where are these screws located? UNDER the whole box or am I supposed to be...

Is it possible to find out WHEN my Dual Rectifier was BUILT?

I've actually CALLED Mesa before and discussed this, but in speaking online with some common sense-based musicians, the information I thought I had recieved may not make sense. It's pretty simple. I called and told whoever I spoke with on the phone that the serial number on my amp was as...

Dual Rec with 2x12 Recto Cab- Right Speaker stopped working

You are most likely EXACTLY correct. Once I put the little ones down for a nap, I'm gonna re-string that beast. That's gotta be what it is. I'll report back, just for future "too-big-string-buying-dummies" like myself so that they can save themselves from my errors. ha ha ha -J

Dual Rec with 2x12 Recto Cab- Right Speaker stopped working

Thanks . . . everything's good now. I think the guitar's strings are too thick now . . . I tried those heavy bottom gauge . . .(60!!) and now the Les Paul I put them on sounds kinda out of tune if I play the lower strings. It might need a neck adjustment, but what's strange is that the...

Dual Rec with 2x12 Recto Cab- Right Speaker stopped working

Hello All . . . I know this may be a simple question but I'm not real good with how gear is actually connected and don't want to wire anything wrong. I was jamming last night in the control room with a head and the 2x12 cab last night and it became obvious that the right speaker was out. This...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

(I'm working at the moment but... I just wanted to toss this out there) Would using a splitter box (which we don't currently have so I have no experience with them) distribute the signal equally between the to lines without being "less signal" than it would be just going in direct? I wanna...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

Sorry . . . I was trying to quote Rotary up there but it didn't totally work right. Hopefully I'll figure that part out.

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

I need to read it all again. I was under the impression that when I PLAY for the first time, I'd be recording the guitar's "output signal" directly into Pro Tools, AS WELL AS another signal that would be running to a Pod, or an amp, or whatever we used. . . . this way, I'd have an "amp sound"...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

It just occured to me that I never seem to feel comfortable "printing" my own guitar tracks because it feels difficult sometimes to say "Yeah, THAT'S the SOUND I WANT THE WORLD TO HEAR!!" and then actually play the **** parts with the kind of style and energy that I'm looking for . . . What...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

Do you have it on MySpace or something so that I can hear what you did with it?? I've been trying to hear SOMETHING with the Recto Recording Pre but so far, nobody's posted anything. -J

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

SO! What we can do is play guitar into a POD with a drummer, so that there's no amp bleed in the room with the drums in it, AND THEN we just run THAT EXACT SAME PERFORMANCE OUT OF PRO TOOLS via one of the outputs, INTO an amp/cabinet of our choice, and it sounds good? That, I gotta try. (let...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

I have always wondered why we couldn't just record the signal that comes directly from the guitar and then just tweak the amp sounds later by running that signal into whatever amp we wanted. I guess somebody that knows alot more about technology must have wondered that too, except he also...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

It makes sense that what I'd said would be true of the recording pre, but we should definitely as one of the Mesa Tech guys . . . how do we get their attention on this thing? That's a GREAT question!! (Since they seem to have designed it to be a stand alone box, I would venture to say that...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

Don't do that . . . . a Marshall head (for example) needs a speaker "load" to push back against the energy that is created by the amp. I am no tech as far as machinery is concerned, but I do know that the head can be damaged if there's no speaker connected to the head, even while you're warming...

What is the funniest thing a noob/beginner has said to you?

I've been growing and learning professional recording engineer of sorts, in my home for the last ten years. I've been playing music in one form or another for over TWENTY years . . . I had a guitar player for a band I was recording tell me "Dude, it's really COOL that your parents let you do...

    mesa recording pre

I have been researching people's opinions of this very unit and I would LOVE to hear what you guys thought was a bad sound. That would be great. Anybody got a sound sample of it sucking? How about a sample of it being used for something that you think sounds great?? I'm not worried about...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

I'm not exclusively a "producer for death metal", (thank God) but I've recorded plenty of metal, some of it being what the "yoots" call "Death Metal" these days . . . I think it's just indicative of them feeling like they had to do something worse than "Nu Metal" and there was nowhere else to go...

Rectifier Recording PreAmp . . . good for DIRECT recording??

I may ultimately do both, but from what I'm reading, I will definitely start with the GT unit . . . it may render having the Rec Pre unneccesary, although I am always facinated by new things and I still look forward to hearing that one too. Since we're on the subject . . . with the GT unit, do...
