Will a Roadking or Roadster do this..

The RK II and Roadster cleans are engineered the same. But to really hear the similarity, you would have to at least plug both amps into the same cab for an A/B comparison. Even with that, the tubes between the two amps makes a difference as well.

    Mesa tremoverb CAB?

Another vote for the half back 4x12. I just bought one of the older wire grille 4x12s from Guitar Center, only $370 including tax. C90s in the top and EVs in the bottom. Currently the top back is on, but I can take it off for jazzier gigs. Comes in mono, but I'm going to wire it for stereo...

Will a Roadking or Roadster do this..

I really liked the tone of EL34s in my Trem-O-Verb. That's what is leading me to the Road King II. I can have both. As far as tone goes, it's always subjective, so everybody's take on tone is correct. However, in playing different Mesa's in the area (we have quite a few Guitar Centers) they're...

    Trem-o-verb

TOV is the way to go for you. I had one myself a while ago. The cleans are excellent, but my best clean sound breaks up around 10:00. I had to turn down the gain and treble a bit to get any louder on the clean channel. The gain channel has all the bottom end you'll ever need. It really is an...

Some harsh criticism to Mesa Boogie

What you all mean to say is, "Mesa, can you please make a video at least like this: Vox Demo . You can post your videos to YouTube for $0."

My Custom Roadster Head and Road King Cabinet

Very nice! I had a Trem-O-Verb head with that color combo. Maybe I'll do it again for the Road King.

    twin/plexi/dumble tones from a tremoverb

Yes, the T Verb can do all of that. However, the Twin clean sound requires a little gain on the clean channel, which breaks up really early, so it's only good for low stage volume. Same for Dumble tones. Yes, it can do the Plexi, but you'll need to swap the 6L6 tubes for EL34s. The tones...

    Would you sell a 2:90 to get a 2:100?

Definitely get the 2:100 and sell the Marshall. The reason being you can swap EL34s for 6L6s with the 2:100 whenever you want. It would be like having a Mesa power amp AND a Marshall power amp. The 2:100 would give you a pure bred Recto. The Modern switch on the 2:100 kicks in the Recto sound in...

    6V6 Power Tubes in a 2:100 ??

Has anyone tried this? I read on http://eurotubes.com/euro-n.htm that it's very cool in the Recto. Should work in the 2:100. I'm using a 2:100 with Triaxis 2.0.

Anyone find their Triaxis a little harsh? (Dsonic pickups)

Sounds like you're still using the stock Triaxis pre amp tubes. Yes? If that is the case, try some JJs or other high quality 12AX7 tubes. They will really make a world of difference.

    Triaxis/2:90 vs Dual Rectifier???

EL34s in the 2:100 are awesome. Very Marshally.

Reverb options for Stiletto Ace Combo

I have a Peavey Valverb in my Triaxis rack. Sounds great. You would like it much better than digital units. They're only about $300 used if you can find one.

    Triaxis/2:90 vs Dual Rectifier???

Mesa must have updated their site in the last month or so. The Triaxis page says the Recto sound is alive.... again. They apparently got the necessary parts again for the Triaxis. However, most would agree that the Triaxis really will not do the Recto sound, but it will be more than enough...

    EL-34s in a Lonestar?

Excellent tone! Thanks for posting. I played a Lonestar once in a store, and I really like the envelope Mesa put on this one.

    MKIII Channel switching

The R1/R2 volume inconsistency is always going to bite you in a live situation. Mesa sells the parts for a separate volume control for about $7 shipped. If you can't do it yourself any tech can do it for pretty cheap as long as he has the schematic.

If MESA will built a preamp exactly the way you wanted

The Quad in a single rack space would make me happy. Maybe a modded Formula pre would do it for me in the short term.

    Modified my Formula Preamp

Oh yes. If I could get the Quad in a single rack space, I'd be sooooo happy. :D

Recto Pre with a Marshall Poweramp...

Before you get the Marshall power amp, consider the fact that you can swap the 6L6s in the Mesa 2:100 for EL34s. No bias required. It's just a 6L6/EL34 switch on the back. Users that have done this always say it has more of a Marshall tone. For a fact, EL34s in my old Trem-O-Verb head sounded a...

If MESA will built a preamp exactly the way you wanted

I would like the Quad in a single rack space. Was that maybe the Formula Pre? Never played one. Don't know.
