    crazy problem with roadster

Start it up...I'll sign. Hopefully this kicks Mesa in the butt and we get Roadster Stage II. I'm also hoping that all of us that have stuck by Mesa and the Roadster will get ours fixed for free.

    crazy problem with roadster

My Roadster pops until I cycle through all of the channels. I haven't really noticed the popping in the last few weeks, although I have to admit I'm too into playing to really notice. I'll check it out today and post my results. I'm all for joining the group and calling Mesa about the problem...

    roadster recto tracking question

I ordered my Roadster November 30 2006 and I received it February 10 2007 (I believe), so just short of about two and a half months

Alter Bridge tones and a Dual, not triple rec.

I heard a clip of him singing sweet child of mine and in that brief clip he sounded like he could front a band on his own..... ...but that means he couldn't shred as much.

    Gearwire Road King Demo'd

Gearwire is useless...their review videos are completely useless IMO.

Mesa's Website, Brochures and Owner's Manuals, Missing Info

Same goes for the states. Here in Houston, the only thing I can find in stores are the Rectifiers (excluding the Road King and Roadster) and maybe, on rare occasion, a Lone Star. I'm looking for a Mark IV to try out, and the only way I can get one in a store to try is to pay 60% down to have...

New Alter Bridge STUDIO rig pic

I spy a Roadster in there as well. As far as how many amps people will cart into a studio, check out the racks that any good session player will bring in. Brent Mason carts three racks with a ton of amps and just a few drawers with some pedals in them. Any decent session player will come in...

    Xotic BB Preamp

If it's not too much trouble, could one of you take some detailed pics of the internals...if you happen to have one that's not dunked in epoxy 8) I'm trying to figure out what op amp they use in that pedal so I can hopefully build a tube screamer closer to their specs. thanks.

    question for roadster users

This was outlined in the Roadster manual...the channel 4 gain and presence controls pick up somewhere towards the mid to top end of channel 3. Also, some of the tone controls are different values and change the character of channel 4.

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

I might be able to do black hardware if I can find a supplier...I don't think the latches come in black though. The chrome corners and other pieces are easily painted, but the latches just wouldn't look good with paint (the paint would quickly be worn off after the first few unlatchings). No...

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

Yup...I build pedalboards. Just trying to work the parts vendors to try and get the best deal. Right now, the cost for me to build a board/case is around $220 for a standard 18"x28"x7" case. I'm hoping to get my costs down to around $120-$140. I'm shooting for a sale price around $180 -...

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

I've contacted Doug at Doug's Tubes and this is his rundown of the tubes I would need to get the Roadster closer to what I'm looking for... V1 - Tung-Sol Reissue V2 - JJ ECC83S V3 - Penta/Shuguang 12AX7C V4 - EH PI - Sovtek LPS Power Tubes - Ruby 6L6GCMSTR As far as speakers go, the V30's...

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

^I'd be happy playing through a toaster with a PRS. I might just go ahead and give the tube swap a shot...I think I've got a jj laying around somewhere, I'll throw it in V1 and see what it does. But, I've got a problem...can't figure out which tube is V1, and the layout diagram is missing from...

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

I will certainly give it a try...I'm spending money right now to build a series of tube screamer clones. If you buy one from me, it'll get me closer to buying those tubes :D

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

The only guitar I have at the moment is a '63 reissue strat...pickups are stock, I've swapped some caps and added a resistor to keep the treble up when the volume is turned down. I've had this guitar for nearly 6 years at this point and it has never let me down. It sounds great through just...

boutique pedal brands? Build Your Own Clone? What's Good

Funny, I was disappointed at how quickly the compressor went together. Only took 3 hours to build, and most of that time was spent sorting out resistor can capacitor values. I also took a break to watch the Simpsons and grab something to eat.

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

Yeah, I understand that. I'm not looking for dead on rip off tones of those guys, but when describing tone, I can't say "I want a tone like I heard in my head when I played that PRS through the Marshall three years ago, but I want it to be different in these ways." It's just difficult to...
