Bass 400+ or MPulse Venture 600

a 2x12 is so much more than a 2x10 You might have some luck trading someone your powerhouse 1000 for a 2x12 + cash

Bass 400+ or MPulse Venture 600

I'd say that the odds are against mesa making another all-tube bass amp again. I could be wrong though. Mesa solid state stuff is nice, but its not as nice as a 400+ if you're happy with your 400+ Ive often thought about getting a KT88 amp as well, Hiwatt makes a 6xKT88 and 4xKT88. Reeves...

Bass 400+ or MPulse Venture 600

The bass 400+ is a tasty head. It is one of my favorite bass amps ever. How many other bass amps take 12 6L6s? (none, I believe) I'm sure you'd agree that the head is incredible. The mild and heavy warm overdrive tones of the 400+ are not to be found on MPulse Venture 600. I think If you...

Coliseum Series 300 MarkIIB Amplifier for bass?

I'm looking for a backup / alternative to my Bass 400+ Anyone ever use a Coliseum Series 300 MarkIIB Amplifier as a bass amp? How did it work? (Do you currently own one, can you try it?) I've seen some reasonable prices on the Big Block 750 and Bass 400 (no +) A buster went for over $900 on...

Anybody looking at price sheets (like those who state they have ordered a Mark 5) see anything about the Stiletto Jack?

    Chinese made Mesa amp?

Ahoy there peoples of the board, I was using Walmart as a metaphor for making stuff ultra cheap with no frills. I didn't intend to speculate that boogies would actually be sold at walmart or at any other big-box retailer. What a hilarious idea though -- who would have thought we would see...

    Chinese made Mesa amp?

I started a "boogies from china" thread some months ago. The sentiment on the board was mostly against a chinese made boogie. So, what about a USA "walmart" boogie amp head? (lowest possible cost, no frills) 50 watt 6L6, single channel, no effects loop. Only has gain, treble, mid, bass...

    400+ blowing fuses!

They are probably 42 a pair ($252 for 12, eeeek!) So your amp has passed the 5 year warranty, so there is no requirement to use Mesa 6L6s. Eurotubes and Dougstubes both have gotten good feedback on this board. You can 12 get matched, late distortion, 6L6s from them. I hear Doug is especially...

    400+ Question?????????

I have a 400+ and never need to turn the master up all that much.. great amp. You could try a THD "Hot Plate" but they're made for amps that only have a few 6L6s in them. You could also trade your 400+ for a 400 (has 6 tubes instead of 12), a d-180. or a buster. Try asking mesa these...

1x12 lonestar or stiletto empty combo cabinet FS on ebay

This is not mine and I have no connection to the seller. (Interesting that it is in Petaluma though) I know some posts on this board regularly talk about converting a head into a combo (and vice versa) http://cgi.ebay.com/Mesa-Boogie-1x12-Cabinet_W0QQitemZ320300761319 the BIN is $250...

Mark V by end of this year

There could be some radical features... - Neodymium speakers - 3 or 5 band Parametric EQ in lieu of a graphic EQ - 4 channels (5 channels?) - multiple voices per channel - analog tremolo, chorus, or compression but I doubt it - maybe some channels having a "less is more" signal path using only...

Current State of Digital Reverb Pedals

Check out the Electro Harmonix "holiest grail" Reverb pedal sound clips. It has 9 adjustable parameters and can store your presets. Costs about $270. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QB8kvSlcBIs I don't have issues with spending money on "wired" devices like solid state pedals (like a...

so is Mesa releasing a new amp this summer??

This is probably far-fetched, fender is releasing a reissue of the 1965 Princeton amp. I really don't think it would be easy (possible?) to make a modern "Princeton Boogie" amp because the reissue is PCB construction...

who owns a mesa express amp?

I play an American Strat, Les Paul studio, and Chandler lap steel through my express 5:50 1x12 -- it is a decent amp for all 3 instruments. I keep finding new tones and the EQ section is great (less is more). If you search around on this board, you'll find some posts about tube replacements on...

    New Mesa amp rumor!!

I'll bet that a few Mesa folks probably read threads like this and get a good laugh at all of the punditry. Mesa employees, I salute you.

    Best store for used Boogies

In Chicago: Music-go-round on Milwaukee Ave in Bucktown/Wicker park (Chicago neighborhoods) There are also MGR stores in Orland Park, IL and Kenosha, WI. MGR buys anything, but please make sure to do a thorough check of the equipment you're buying. I've gotten some good deals in the past at...

    GC loses Mesa?

From what I've just read, Guitar Center is no longer a publicly held company. They're now completely owned by Bain Capital Partners (a holding company). They were bought for 2.1 billion and Bain would assume liability for the debt. This could mean a variety of things (heres just a few) 1)...
