FS: Carvin T100 power amp (old school model)

Used for a while with my mesa studio preamp. VERY good piece. Just too heavy for me to be moving around these days. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270247391199 Videos of it with my preamp can be found here. www.youtube.com/fastredponycar

Video Demos: RK II and Roadster Heads

sound was pretty muffled (camera mic I suppose). Anthony's a helluva player though. Make sure he keeps his hair nice and silkened so it doesn't mute the strings when it touches them.

New Mic pre -> new recording

Wife bought me the ART digtal MPA tube mic preamp for my birthday and I've slowly begun to figure this thing out. Lots of tone shifting and shaping ability in this thing... http://www.drewlankford.com/music/rawk.mp3 SM57 on the left and Senn E609 on the right. Plenty of mistakes in the...

New Metal Clip For A Contest I'm Entering (Mark IV)

Here's a recording with my Studio Preamp

the core tone is good. It's just a poor recording quality holding it back and preventing it from really popping out in the mix. Good job on the playing. Your recordings will only get better too. Can you describe in as much detail your entire recording setup...

The Studio Pre is the holy grail!

I can't get to the youtube clip. Is it Marco? If it's the clip I'm thinking about, it's a very good lead tone just a HAIR too dry and aggressive for my personal tastes.

The Studio Pre is the holy grail!

You must not be doing something right because my studio pre delivers this in spades with my Gmajor. I've found though that the higher I crank the power amp channels, the more clean headroom I get. my clean channel is actually louder than my overdrive channel (which i've specifically eq'd to be...

A new one I'm working on. critique the mix

yeah one of these days I'll have him come over with his Sansamp RBI and schecter bass and try to lay down something nice. I've got an SX bass from rondo but nothing worthy of an input device. I've tried running into my mic preamp but the dynamics are all over. It's either inaudible or...

Mark IV clips : \m/ content

sounds good! One thing you may want to try (and I'm not sure what settings you used) that has helped me is blending various mic positions and using these layered to create a very filling sound. I'll have one track with lots of low end, another sort of in between, another more centralized and...

A new one I'm working on. critique the mix

Round 2. I can't figure out how to get the drum tracks separated by themselves yet. I think i've got an idea how but it'll take forever. For the time being, I applied those eq settings you reccomended MRC for the drums and tweaking them around a hair, killed all the compression on the guitar...

yup that it is... recorded using a vintage 30 and the 57.

A new one I'm working on. critique the mix

I brought acid pro and the project files with me to work. I'll try and play around with it during my free time. I do have a question though MRD about separating the EZ drummer grooves into individual components. I opened the mixer and clicked the track number setting to per track or whatever...

A new one I'm working on. critique the mix

yeah man sounds like you've given me a good 3 or 4 days worth of work hahaha! I'll definately go back and see what all changes you're pointing me towards I can take care of. I'm sure I'll discover a lot of new stuff during the process.

A new one I'm working on. critique the mix

Song's called Res Ipsa (latin)... new song our band is working on..well... one I wrote that everyone now has to learn. The empty spots in the song (as well as the beginning) is supposed to have the bassist chugging the main riff by himself before the guitars come in. I layered 2 rythem tracks...

Wanna better sound with the tri-axis?

Got the Lava ELC today... I'm not even going to bother taking it and the PW cable to the store. This has got to be the biggest let down of the year. I just made a recording with it to hear the 3 in a controlled environment.. ( the planet waves cable and a no name "junker" were the other 2) and...

What Cabinets are you guys using...

They have the capability to handle peaks at that wattage but even when being pushed hard at a constant power, they only actually put out 80 watts. They also really don't have the voicing to compliment a guitar. I mean, they don't sound BAD, there just are better speakers for the guitar out...
