Just put a set of JJ KT77's in my Mark IV Custom in the Class A Sockets...along with my Philips 6L6WGB Small Bottle Military Grade in the two middle sockets and JJ Preamp 12AX7's.
The KT77's were to replace a set of JJ E34L in the Class A sockets I've used for 5 years - which has been...
Thanks for that.
Th amp is only a couple of months old but is a hassle getting it in for repair. May need to though. Annoying. Which tube govrns the effects in and which one the effects out - or will I just check my manual? :)

Hi all,
Anyone else get a popping noise (registers on rack FX input meter) and depending on the effect it is set on delasys, chorus', etc the pop. Makes an electronic fizzing noise - short sound - caused by the pop.
Just started recently - anyone heard of this - the amp and FX both sound...
Cheesebox,
Where was it ordered from and what were their reasons for the delay. I had a similar situation but there are several places in the U.K. which have a Mark IV in stock, according to Westside Distribution. Sound Control said it had been discontinued and was no longer made - totally...
Cheers for that,
Just after I bought the tubes (and the amp) about 6 weeks ago I had the amp checked out thoroughly by the Mesa Engineer here in the UK, as he is local to me and I know him directly.

Nothing to worry about - it is actually perfectly normal and in some respects can actually be a good sign.

Hi All,
I have a Mark IV Hardwood (shortbody) with 2 x EL34 JJ's (Blue) in the outer sockets and NOS JAN Phillips (Small Bottle) 6L6's in the inner sockets. The sound from this combo is great. I have all Mesa pre-amp valves.
However, recently I notice that as soon as I power up the Phillips...
100% true - I have it from the horses mouth and our UK distributor that there are absolutely no plans to alter the Mark IV, revise it or scrap it. The distributor went as far as to say they will NEVER stop Mark IV production as it is too successful.
Brian :) (IN THE U.K.)
In my Mark IV I use a pair of JJ EL34's (blue :) ) in the outer sockets and a pair of small bottle JAN/PHILLIPS NOS Military Spec 6L6's. This combo I can't recommend enough - it is simply superb. So rich yet so alive it's MEGA!!
